Just wanted to tell you how much I'm enjoying following along on your sabbatical blog. I can tell that you are really growing and getting closer to God in this time and that's so wonderful.
Your post today about friendship was so in line with a conversation that my friend Kelle and I had yesterday. She is one of those special friends to me that we just know that no matter what, despite distance (we live 7 hrs apart), we would drop everything to be there for each other. It's such a blessing to have friends like that. We were also talking about a friend who I have sort of drifted away from and I used the same words you did about some friends being in your life for a season. I know that to be true. Sometimes God puts friends in your life at just the right time that you need each other and then you grow and change and move on and the friendship changes, too. I'm still learning how to let those friendships go and just be thankful for the time we had together. I tend to hang on for dear life and try to keep things the same and that just doesn't work.
Enjoy your last week of sabbatical. What a wonderful thing your employer has done for all you faithful, hard-working employees. :)
