Chris and I enjoyed a little 4th of July getaway to Fredericksburg this weekend!! We got on the road bright and early Sunday morning, and arrived just in time for lunch at The Fredericksburg Brewery. We got there right when they opened, and were seated right away...and not 15 minutes later, the line to get in was lined up all down the sidewalk. Perfect!
From there, we stopped at a few shops (including the scrapbook store, yay!) and then watched the 4th of July parade! I can't remember the last parade I saw, so it was neat to experience.

We also found this cute pig tucked back in a nook that we've never noticed before...

We then headed out to our favorite winery, Grape Creek. We stocked up on our favorite wine (mmmmmmmmm) and enjoyed one chilled out on their beautiful patio. We spent some relaxing time talking and sipping, and then got a few photos by the rows of grapes.

Properly relaxed, we had a delicious dinner at Mamacitas and then we watched the city fireworks show with every single person in Fredericksburg. It was a truly wonderful day spent with the man who has my heart...

Monday, we did a little more shopping, and then got back on the road to home...I'm so glad we were able to have this little getaway with one another before he heads to Africa. Being without him for two weeks, while he is having the experience of a lifetime, is not going to be easy for him or for me. We don't know when or if he'll be able to email or call or text. It will be an interesting time for us!!!
