prom #1

Well hello!!

I had a lovely day off today and I used up every bit of it! I slept until about 8:30, then got up and had a healthy breakfast. My stomach is so so so happy to be back to my food after a weekend of trying to eat healthy while traveling. I did very well in my choices, but you still don't know how things are cooked and my stomach was unhappy most of the weekend. It likes me again now. :) From there: laundry, grocery list, shower, birthday lunch with Kim at Subway, took lunch to Chris, went to the bank, went to Bed Bath & Beyond for a food processor, stopped at the Natural Food Store, and then did the grocery shopping and went to Walgreens. Put everything away. Made my egg muffins. Made my nut butter in my new processor. Made dinner, dishes, and just painted my nails. Whew I am tired!!! But it was a good day.

Tonight, I want to focus on one of my catch up posts -- so I will start with Prom #1! She attended two proms this year -- her prom and her boyfriend's prom, since they go to two different schools here in town. This was Aspen's senior prom for her high school on the Saturday (4-19-14) that we arrived back in town from the cruise. We were not able to see her beforehand or take pictures, so I only have a few from what she had on her phone.

She looked absolutely stunning...the dress is one that she actually borrowed from a friend, and it fit her as though it was made for her. The color was beautiful on her too! I will have more photos to share of it from prom #2, since I was the one taking the photos. Her boyfriend Grayson wore a matching purple vest and they looked so nice together. She was very excited to wear 6" heels, since Grayson is so tall! They took photos with a group beforehand and then had dinner at the Fairway Oaks Country Club with the group. Then, they headed to the Civic Center and danced the night away!

After Prom, they went to the Gymnastics Sports Center to hang out with other seniors in a non-drinking atmosphere...but she ended up coming home before curfew because we had gotten home from Mexico around 11:30 p.m. and she was excited to see us! That was sure sweet!

It is crazy to think that this was her senior Prom -- her high school life is winding down. We are in the final stretch here and it is unbelievable that she will be graduating in just a few short weeks. She has come a long way in this last year, and we are very, very proud of the woman she is becoming!
