huck and ireland post 1

:: Over our long weekend, we made a pit stop to visit Huckleberry -- he was excited to see us! He was out in the middle of his field, and came right over when we pulled up. I like to tickle his nose :) Unfortunately the fence is so tall I can barely reach him in any other way. It was a fun visit.

Me and Huck -- and yes, my skin is almost as white as my white shirt!!

:: On July 3rd (Thursday) at 7:30 am, Mimi and I dropped Aspen off at Beltway Church for her Ireland trip. She said goodbye to Chris out at the start of his 40 mile run...a few tears were shed :)

The group of 20 rode on a chartered bus to Dallas, where their flight to Philadelphia was delayed a few hours due to weather in Philly. Unfortunately, once they did arrive in Philly, they had missed their overseas flight to Ireland. Traveling in a group that large, with mostly teenagers, the leader Randy felt he needed to keep the group together. So the next flight to Ireland that could accommodate all 20 of them flew out on Saturday evening. That means that the group had an unexpected two days to sight see in Philadelphia. Really though, what a fun place to be for Independence Day!

They finally flew out Saturday evening and arrived in Ireland 6 hours later. After getting settled in, they prepared things for the camp they would be working beginning on Monday. The trip will continue on as planned, they just won't have as much time for free time. She has already seen so many amazing things!! She said on the 2 hour bus ride to their hotel, she gawked out the window with tears rolling down her eyes. I can't even imagine seeing the things she is seeing!!

Saying goodbye
This is the tshirt that Aspen designed for the group! She designed it, I created it on the computer. They turned out so cute!! There is a verse on the back, and the year on the sleeves.
Visiting the Liberty Bell on the 4th of July
They also ran up the "Rocky" steps!
Finally!! Boarding the plane for the flight to Ireland!! She said it was freezing on the plane and she wasn't able to sleep. There was a movie playing, but the screen was so far away she couldn't see it. It was a long 6 hours for her.
She is able to post to Instagram at the hotel, because they have free Wifi. We also have an app called Viber that allows us to text and call each other when we are both on Wifi. We have heard from her quite a bit, so that is helping with the homesickness I am sure! Love this one she posted on Instagram today...her caption was "Your love has ravished my heart"...love this girl and her heart for God!
Another gorgeous photo -- can't wait to see all of her photos and hear all of her stories!!!
God is using her for wonderful things over there...those 5 and 6 year olds that she is working with are already in love with her and learning about God...so proud of her!
