back to fredericksburg

Hi there!! Lots to catch up on, and photos to come! Today I wanted to tell you about our weekend! I'll "show" you soon!

:: Friday evening, after work, Chris and I finished packing and then got on the road to Fredericksburg! We decided to bypass our usual BBQ place along the way, and head straight there for dinner at the Brewery! It was about 8:45 when we arrived, and we were starving -- but we really enjoyed our meal!!! Afterwards, being Halloween, we wanted to stop at the Goth Bar...only it was INSANE!!! It's a small place, but there was a band inside and it was overflowing with people. All in costume, and all a bit wild! There was spanking happening on the sidewalk. :) So we walked on by. We went to Lincoln Street and enjoyed a relaxing, quiet glass of wine and a few gourmet chocolates. Perfect! Then we checked in to our hotel...

:: Saturday morning, Chris got up early to get a long run in, and I slept late! Ahh! Then we went to Hilda's for breakfast burritos. Yummy! After getting ready for the day, we headed to Main Street to hit my favorite shops. I found a few cute things! Then we went out to Grape Creek and proceeded to spend a lovely day there together. We enjoyed some delicious wine, some great music by Jeff Wood, and some wonderful time together. The weather was perfect. A bit chilly, with a little breeze...sitting in the sun, we were just right!

:: After our afternoon there, we headed to The Hilltop Cafe for a delicious dinner. It was my first time there, and it didn't disappoint! A small place, and very eclectic, but the food was outstanding! I had shrimp stuffed with shrimp and crab, and Chris had a mixed grill of duck, sausage and shrimp. Mm!! I also enjoyed a chocolate martini, delish! From there, we headed back to the hotel and relaxed.

:: Sunday morning, we had breakfast at the hotel and then we went to a yoga session! It was held at Grape Creek winery, right near the grape vines! It was really a wonderful experience, we both loved it! It was the first time the winery hosted this, so they were taking photos and placing them on facebook! I'll be sharing those :) After that, we went to have lunch at The Brewery and then enjoyed some delicious homemade ice cream. Mm! Then we hit up a few remaining stores and got on the road to home.

:: There were so many deer out and about -- that always makes for a nervous ride...luckily we had no incidents! We made in home in time for me to make the grocery list and for our Walking Dead show!!!

It was a wonderful weekend!!!!

Hope you had a great one too!!
