:: I interviewed my first graphic designer today -- it went ok. She is on the maybe list. I have another interview tomorrow, though he is in Kansas so it will be a Skype interview. That should be very interesting. I am hoping to have a few more interviews to have a pool of good candidates to choose from. Wish me luck!

:: We bought a deep-clean vacuum over the weekend, and Chris was excited to use it for the first time this evening! Our rugs are squeaky clean now, it worked great! To see the water that comes out of that thing afterwards...ug.

:: I purchased some Hunter boot socks and a boot shiner about a week and a half ago, and they arrived today! I love the socks, they are such a cozy fleece! And the boot shiner is incredible!!! My boots look brand spanking new! The natural rubber of the Hunter boot turns chalky after wearing...not sure why, but that shiner took it all away!

:: I also attempted to make homemade almond milk this evening, with iffy success. It seemed like a pretty easy process -- soak the almonds in water for 24 hours, then put in a blender with more water and blend until smooth. Then drain it through cheesecloth to separate the dregs from the milk. My food processor did not handle water well at all, it went everywhere. Switched to the Ninja blender, and it was leaking too. Cleaned up multiple messes. Then, draining it through the cheesecloth was interesting. I ended up with about 20 oz of almond milk, and it tastes -- ok. I love almond milk, but the brands available at the store are filled with a lot of things I don't want to eat (and can't eat on Whole 30). I will give this a try, but it didn't wow me right off the bat! Now I am attempting to dry the almond dregs in the oven, because almond meal is expensive at the store so might as well try it. I like to coat my chicken nuggets, etc in it.

:: Update on Aspen -- we still do not hear from her. We've heard from her a handful of times since she moved out on Dec. 15. We did hear that she moved put of her boyfriend's parents trailer and into her own apartment, and her high school junior boyfriend is now living with her. I'm not sure how they are paying for it all, and I imagine times are going to be tough on them for a long while. Please continue to keep her in your prayers -- she is lost right now, and has definitely turned her sights away from God and her family.

:: So that is pretty much my day in a nutshell...tomorrow is bunko and I am looking forward to it!
