love vs. fear

Love is unconditional. Fear is full of conditions.

In fear, I love you IF you let me control you, IF you are good to me, IF you fit into the image I make for you. I create an image of the way you should be, and because you are not and never will be that image, I judge you because of that and find you guilty. If you don't fit the image I create for you, you embarrass me, you annoy me. I have no patience with you. I am just pretending kindness.

In love, there is no IF. There are no conditions. I love you for no reason, with no justification. I love you the way you are, and you are free to be the way you are.

~ exerpt taken from "The Mastery of Love" by Don Miguel Ruiz...

This is a great book...I've mentioned it before. Sometimes I like to just randomly open it up to whatever page falls open, and read a paragraph. It usually speaks to me.

Are you letting the people in your life be themselves? Are you loving them for it? Do you have a lot of IF sentences in relation to your love? Are you loving just to love? For no reason?? Are you loving the way that you should?

Am I???

I know alot of people who need to hear that!

It makes me feel good because I feel that Kenneth and I have love; not fear. If not, we'd have been divorced long ago!
