Stitch Fix #16

So, I took a few months off from getting Stitch Fix deliveries...it was a nice break and then I was so excited to get my 16th Fix!

There wasn't anything I was really hoping for...so the only note I left for Kallie was to send cozy, baggy sweaters and stuff for winter. That's it!

I definitely got some goodies that I loved! Let's take a look!

Lucky Brand : Basel Double Sided Zipper Bootie -- $129.00

I actually just went through a search for some new brown shoes...it was harder than I thought it would be but I finally bought some tan wedge booties. So I am no longer in the market for booties. And unfortunately, these are a bit pricey for my budget! But, I really like the style a lot! The color is great, with the fade-to-dark toes. And the quality is very good. They did have a little scratch on them, so if I had bought them I would've exchanged them for a different pair. VERDICT : Returned

Andrew Marc : Keru Puffer Vest -- $88.00

I was super excited to see this crisp white vest in my box!! I truly love puffers and actually had been looking at some white ones recently. I'm so glad I hadn't bought one yet, because this puffer is going straight into my closet! It has a detachable hood, and is very good quality. Love!! VERDICT : Kept!

41Hawthorn : Polah Striped Pullover -- $68.00

Seeing this sweater in my box was a bit confusing...mainly because I already have a 41Hawthorn sweater that is very, very similar to this one! It is gray with stripes on the sleeve, and stripes on the body. All similar colors. (The back of this one has stripes on it). This was a definite no right off the bat, because of the similarity. It also felt a bit sloppy to me. I like the sweater I have better than this one. VERDICT : Returned

Mak : Davici Cableknit Pullover -- $54.00

This sweater is just ok to me. The hunter green color isn't a fave (I DO love green but hunter is my least favorite!) In wanting some baggy, cozy sweaters, this one is just a bit too structured to me. Even though it did fit perfectly. Really, just too much of a basic for me. VERDICT : Returned

RD Style : Josslyn V-Neck Pullover -- $68.00

This sweater has a slouchy fit that I love! It's a little loose and very cozy. Perfect! The soft gray color is nice; a fun color would have been good too! I'm also a V-neck fan! Bonus -- Chris REALLY  likes this one!! VERDICT : Kept!

Two keepers! That's successful in my eyes! Super happy with my two selections. AND since I signed up for Stitch Fix's special program, I have a year of NO styling fees!! And that also gave me a credit to use on this order. Whoop!

Verdict : Happy girl!

Stitch Fix #15

It's hard to believe that I just received my fifteenth Fix from Stitch Fix! I've had fifteen exciting deliveries and I love this service! My stylist, Kallie, has gotten such a handle on what I like and don't like. It makes me smile! It is fun to see what she chooses for me each time.

For this fix, here were my requests:

: No chevron, jewelry, or scarves
: More casual clothing

That's it! I find I like it better when I'm less specific and just let Kallie do what she does best!

Let's take a look at Fix #15!!

Renee C Naveen Dress -- Green
This was a cute, casual dress, but didn't work for me on a number of levels. The colors weren't quite "me" -- the dark green and mustard aren't my faves. The pattern was a little too loud and busy for me. The fit was a little too baggy, and it was super short. Short in the front, but even shorter on the sides. Kallie suggested that I could pair it with leggings or shorts, but it didn't quite fit right with those. And my 40 years of age can't pull off that shortness anymore! :) VERDICT : RETURNED

Dolce Vita Darrah Strappy Sandal - Mint
I liked these pretty sandals right out of the box! They are dainty and I love the nude and white colors. They will go with everything! I can wear them to work and for casual too. They fit perfectly and are comfy too. This is an all-around win! The price was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I couldn't resist! VERDICT : KEPT!

Dear John Finnegan Printed Cuffed Short -- Light Blue
I really like these shorts! They are a lightweight material with cute cuffs, and I really like the blue and white stripe pattern. They fit perfectly and are a good length. I can pair these with a lot of shirts that I already have, and I couldn't pass these up either! VERDICT : KEPT!

Skies are Blue Abiga Lace Detail Knit Tank -- Yellow
I was thinking that this tank would be a "yes" when I pulled it out of the box...yellow is not typically one of my faves, but this yellow is pretty. I liked the dainty quality to it, and I really liked the lacey back (though it would've been difficult to find a bra to wear with it)...once I put it on, the fit was good but I really didn't like how the bra was pretty visible in the front. The detail on it was pretty clear, and I am not a fan of that. VERDICT : RETURNED

Pixley Lety Lace Up Back Top -- Navy
Kallie said that this tank was her "adventurous pick" for me :) That gave me a chuckle! However, I don't think this was too far fetched for me! I love bright colors like pink and green, and the fit of this was cute. And I'm a sucker for a strappy back! This was a good pick! If it weren't for those $$ sandals, I would have kept this one...but I couldn't justify both! VERDICT : RETURNED

Thank you for another great fix Kallie! I am so pleased with my sandals and shorts! I really appreciate the effort you've put into getting to know me! It makes this so fun!!

Stitch Fix Review #14

For this fix, I requested the wonderful Kallie again, and I left things pretty open -- I just asked for no jewelry, no scarves, no chevron patterns. And Kallie came through again with a few great pieces!

Collective Concepts : Ardenas Split Neck Blouse - Light Green - $54.00
This blouse makes me happy! I love the colors and the whimsical paisley pattern! The fit is great and it can be casual or worn to work. The material is nice and just the right amount of flowy. VERDICT : KEEPER!

Collective Concepts : Ardenas Split Neck Blouse - Light Green

Papermoon : Welton Bow Back Detail Top - Light Blue - $48.00
This top was a maybe...but in the end, there was just too much going on. I loved the back and the little bow detail. The front, though, had two different layers, and the layers were trimmed with little balls. And, the pattern and colors weren't quite right for me. So, even though the fit was perfect -- VERDICT : RETURNED

Papermoon : Welton Bow Back Detail Top - Light Blue

Skies are Blue : Caitlynn Dress - Coral - $68.00
I really love this dress! The fit is so nice, it is slightly loose but not too frumpy. it is lined and that is always a huge plus with me. The colors and pattern are bright and cheerful, and the back! I love the back!! The length is also perfect. In love! VERDICT : KEEPER!

Skies are Blue : Caitlynn Dress - Coral

Skies are Blue : Pansy Racerback Top - Blue - $44.00
Again, this one was a maybe. Here is why it ended up being a no: the pattern and colors didn't do it for me; the fit was a bit too snug across the chest; it was a little too short; and even though I really love a racerback (it's my fave style), these thick elastic straps didn't lay quite right. Chris liked this one, but I just wasn't comfy in it. VERDICT : RETURNED

Skies are Blue : Pansy Racerback Top - Blue

Colourworks : Allyse 3/4 Sleeve Cardigan - Cobalt - $58.00
This color is ok. And the fit of the cardigan was quite nice actually! The fabric really was not for me though. It was very itchy, and transparent -- to me, it looked and felt a little cheap. It was kind of fun that the color matched the dress perfectly, but it was not to be. VERDICT : RETURNED

Colourworks : Allyse 3/4 Sleeve Cardigan - Cobalt

So, this fix turned out to be a 2/5 for me, and I am pleased! I really love the two pieces that I kept, and I'm looking forward to #15 :) Thank you Kallie for another fun fix!! I really think you are getting my style!

Stitch Fix Review #13

I love Stitch Fix, and was excited to get lucky #13 :) Here are the things I requested this time:

: Requested Kallie, my normal stylist
: Requested clothes for Cancun -- fun shorts, cute tops, casual dresses
: Requested no jewelry, scarves or chevron
: Interested in trying shoes (they're just now starting to offer shoes!)
: Requested a neutral color clutch

When I opened up my box, I was excited to see a clutch and some shoes! And some bright fun colors. Once I dove in, I discovered that Kallie was on vacation and so I had Megan styling for me. I was a bit bummed at first, but really, I think that Megan did a pretty good job picking for me!

Moda Luxe Park City Clutch Brown

Moda Luxe - Park City Clutch - Brown - $48.00
I really liked this clutch! The color was good and I liked the style, design, tassle. However, the size of the clutch was a little too big. I was envisioning one about half this size. So, unfortunately the VERDICT: RETURNED.

Nine West Demetria Cross Band Slide Sandal Black

Nine West - Demetria Cross Band Slide Sandal - Black - $89.00
So Megan noticed that I like leopard, and kudos to her on that! The leopard on these shoes is really pretty too. However, oh these shoes. No no no. The soles of these sandals were like bricks. There was no bend in them at all. That obviously makes them very difficult to walk in! The sole is also bright white, which was a bit tacky. I prefer dainty summer shoes. VERDICT: ABSOLUTELY NO.

Level 99 Cindie Printed Short White

Level 99 - Cindie Printed Short - White - $78.00
Hmmmm...these...the fit was a bit too baggy, though I did like the length. The floral pattern was doable, though I didn't love it -- but I didn't like that the background was cream. Cream and my pale pale skin just don't go together. VERDICT: RETURNED.

Brixon Ivy Jarred Lace Detail Cap-Sleeve Blouse Cobalt

Brixon Ivy - Jarred Lace Detail Cap-Sleeve Blouse - Cobalt - $68.00
This gorgeous shirt is one that I had pinned on my Pinterest page -- I love the bright color and I really love the dainty lace detailing on the neckline and sleeves. It was just as pretty in person! The fit was perfect -- just a little flowy with a good length. VERDICT: KEPT!

Pixley Lagio Mixed Material Top Red

Pixley - Lagio Mixed Material Top - Red - $58.00
This, too, was a shirt that I had pinned on my Pinterest page -- I really love the pattern on this one! The front pattern is kind of silky, the neckline is lace and the sleeves/back are tshirt material. The sleeves are a bit awkward in that they meet up with the shirt in an odd place, but I can live with that. VERDICT: KEPT!

So, this was a 2/5, and I am pleased with that! Love these two shirts!

Stitch Fix #12 Review

For my 12th Fix from Stitch Fix, I requested my normal, fabulous stylist, Kallie!! And here is what I requested:

:: No jewelry, scarves or bags
:: Some shirts with full long sleeves (no 3/4)
:: Some items for our upcoming trip to Cancun

Pretty vague -- I like to let her surprise me sometimes!! I did not find this to be my favorite fix ever, but I am okay with that...I don't need to love 5/5 for me to be happy. I do have gift card credit to use, and it is just burning a hole in my pocket...but, I will spend it eventually!!

And let me preface this by saying -- my normal, hunky photographer was otherwise engaged (out of town, and then lots of outside chores), so I didn't bother him for pictures this Fix...I took some selfies in my full length mirror, which just aren't as good! Just made me realize how fortunate I am to have him available most months!!

Let's dive in!

Kut from the Kloth : Corynne Distressed Boyfriend Short
These denim shorts were certainly cute! And they fit great too! But, these were a NO for a few reasons. First, I have a handful of basic denim shorts already, and have no need for another basic pair. Second, these are a tad too long for my tastes...I have a long torso, BUT my legs are fairly short in comparison...and this length just really cuts them off at a weird place. I'm not opposed to receiving shorts, but I would much prefer a fun, bright color or a fun (but not TOO crazy) pattern! VERDICT : RETURNED.

Kut from the Kloth : Corynne Distressed Boyfriend Short

Kut from the Kloth : Piere Faux Leather Jacket
This jacket is actually quite luscious! The material is leather-like, but not cheap feeling at all. The price on this was a little higher than I would normally spend in a Fix, but I felt that the quality definitely matched it. This jacket is one that I had recently pinned on Pinterest from a review I had seen -- the color just makes my heart pitter patter!! It is a gorgeous light mint color, and has gold details. Right up my alley. Here's the thing though...while I loved it out of the box, it really didn't look great on me. The fit was just a little too short and fitted, and the collar was a bit odd. It didn't look great unzipped either. And who was I kidding, thinking I could pull off a mint leather jacket?? It's just not me unfortunately :( It's always fun to try something a little outside your box though. I did give this one some serious thought. VERDICT : RETURNED.

Kut from the Kloth : Piere Faux Leather Jacket
Kut from the Kloth : Piere Faux Leather Jacket

Loveappella : Carlita Multi Chevron Print Maxi Dress
I am a fan of maxi dresses, and was excited to receive one -- perfect for Cancun! This maxi, in particular, had a great length. I find that often, maxis just are way too long -- this was 100% perfect. However, this maxi didn't suit me for a few reasons. First, the color. Purple is not in my top faves, and will never be something I gravitate toward. Second, the pattern. Chevron is just too overdone I think, and I have enough in my closet. No more! Third, the top section. It was a bit loose, and made my chest seem bigger than it is...and I actually typically prefer a smaller look. And finally, the waist...there is a band that goes around right below the breasts, and it hit me at a very odd spot. It made my stomach pooch out underneath it, which is never attractive. My torso is long and I have difficulty cutting it off in the middle. A fit and flare style with no defined waist is much better on me. Even a drop waist is better. VERDICT : RETURNED.

Loveappella : Carlita Multi Chevron Print Maxi Dress

Papermoon : Kacey Lace Detail Blouse
Though I am not always a fan of a solid shirt, this one spoke to me. Kallie really paid attention to my Pinterest board with this one, because I had posted a lot of examples of this kind of shoulder cut and this kind of lace detail. Thank you Kallie! My shoulders are my favorite body part, and the area that looks the most defined...and this kind of neckline/shoulder line helps accentuate it. Love that! The little peep hole is cute but also still modest. Good. And the lace detail is just enough. Not too excessive, which could be a bit much on me. Just right. I've included a closeup of the detail, as well. This color is a darker version of one of my faves, and definitely doable. Happy happy! My only dilemma now is to figure out what kind of bra to wear with it...hmmm. I hate strapless!! VERDICT : KEPT!!

Papermoon : Kacey Lace Detail Blouse

MTLA : Wenn Pullover Sweater
In asking for long sleeves, I had actually expected shirts instead of sweaters. But I wasn't opposed to this sweater. Again, Kallie paid attention to my Pinterest board because I have a LOT of stripes on there. Here are my thoughts on this one. I like the scoop, open neckline. I like the stripes a lot, but not necessarily the red and white together (too 4th of July for me). The fit was perfect, but with a sweater like this I would prefer to have it be a bit more loose and comfy...more snuggly. The material was a bit scratchy...not too cozy. VERDICT : RETURNED.

MTLA : Wenn Pullover Sweater

So, there we have it! #12 is in the books, and I have already scheduled #13!

Stitch Fix #11 Review

I was very excited to get my 11th Fix!! I had two gift cards from Christmas that I couldn't wait to spend!

I had requested my normal stylist, Kallie, who is really getting to know me well! And I didn't request anything specific, but I did add a list of a few things I didn't want:

No: jewelry, scarves, bags, chevron pattern, or sheer shirts.

I received my fix and dove in to read the note from my stylist -- turns out that Kallie was on vacation, so I had a stylist named Bailey. Bailey did a fine job, and picked out some decent pieces. I didn't necessarily feel like they were spot on choices for me, per se...but it wasn't bad! I do feel it brings home the point that Kallie knows me pretty well!

Romolo Linette Layered Strands Necklace

Romolo : Linette Layered Strands Necklace -- $34.00

I was a little surprised to see this in my Fix, since I had requested no jewelry...it was a nice, classic gold long two-strand necklace. I already have a number of those. And really was not interested in another one or any jewelry. VERDICT: RETURNED

41Hawthorn Jordanne A-line Plaid Skirt

41Hawthorn : Jordanne A-line Plaid Skirt -- $68.00

This skirt is so pretty! It fits perfectly -- not too tight, not too loose, and perfect length. It has a lining which I love! The color scheme is a little different for me -- it it brown, cream, and another color that could be either really dark blue or black. A very pretty plaid, and the fabric is so super soft. This will be great for work; just need to figure out what to pair it with!! VERDICT: KEPT!

Skies are Blue Eniko Button Down Top

Skies are Blue: Eniko Button Down Top  -- $58.00

This shirt was interesting...I really liked the blue stripe paired with the contrasting blue polka dot a lot! It was so cute! I've had shirts like this in the past for work and have liked them...but for that I prefer a more giving fabric. The stiff cotton of this one left me feeling a little frumpy. It didn't look good tucked in, and it looked too professional untucked. I was unable to make this one work. VERDICT: RETURNED.

Fate Davis Leopard Print Button-Up Cardigan

Fate : Davis Leopard Print Button-Up Cardigan -- $58.00

Oh how I love leopard!! This was a good call on Bailey's part because I really have a thing for it :) This cardigan was a nice, long length, which I liked. It did have two odd pockets on the front, that were a little high -- but I could have lived with those. The unfortunate thing is that I already have a leopard cardigan that is still in good shape and I can't justify two. VERDICT: RETURNED.

Skies are Blue Hamberg Paisley Print Henley Blouse

Skies are blue : Hamberg Paisley Print Henley Blouse -- $54.00

This one was really, really pretty! I do love paisley, and the fact that this shirt had tiny little paisleys was so cute! I really liked the contrasting section on the front too, with the pleats. I was on the fence about this one though. For one thing,it is pretty sheet (yet another thing I requested to NOT get). Beyond that, it was a little too short and boxy, and the sleeves were an odd length. I was sad because I wanted this one to work! VERDICT: RETURNED.

So there you have it! This one ended up being a 1/5 for me, but I am very pleased with the skirt! Can't wait to wear it! I look forward to Kallie returning and scheduling my next fix, so I can spend the rest of my gift cards!! :)

Stitch Fix #10

True Story - Stitch Fix Review #10

My Stitch Fix stylist, Kallie, did a great job on my 10th Fix!! I'm excited to share it with you!

For this Fix, my notes requested:

: No jewelry, scarves or purses
: Dark gray or black jeans

That's it! I left the rest up to Kallie! I am enjoying the process more when I'm not so specific...gotta let Kallie do what she does best!!

So, let's dive in!

True Story : Liverpool : Kay Skinny Jean in Dark Grey
True Story : Liverpool : Kay Skinny Jean in Dark Grey

Liverpool : Kay Skinny Jean in Dark Grey ($88)
I was very pleased with these jeans! I like the color a lot -- they are a faded black, just what I was wanting. The fit was perfect... perfect in the waist, with no gap in the back. The length is fantastic...perfect for rolling up with booties or wearing straight with flats. I'm not sure how Stitch Fix does it, but every pair of jeans I've gotten from them has fit perfectly! VERDICT: KEPT!

True Story : Kut From The Kloth : Sinclaire Button Front Blouse

Kut From The Kloth : Sinclaire Button Front Blouse ($68)
I have been more open to florals lately, so this one had possibility. However, I am not a fan of hunter green, or the color combo in this shirt. The fit was just ok -- it seemed a bit too big, even as a flowy shirt. The thing I liked least was how sheer this shirt is -- a cami was definitely necessary, and the pocket looked awkward because it REALLY stood out. All in all this shirt was a NO for me. When I posted my photos on Facebook, someone wanted to buy it, so I kept this shirt to sell only. VERDICT: KEPT BUT SOLD.

True Story : If By Sea : Gallen Quilted Puffer Jacket

If By Sea : Gallen Quilted Puffer Jacket ($88)
Oh the color of this jacket is perfection!!!!! There's a funny story with this jacket...I follow a woman on Instagram who had posted her recent Fix. She received this exact jacket in her Fix, and I exclaimed with excitement when I saw it!! I told Chris that I must have it! I messaged the woman and asked her the name of the jacket so that I could request it from Kallie on my next Fix! She responded and told me the name, and then, honestly, ten minutes later my Fix arrived and the jacket was inside! Ha! I like to imagine that Kallie saw this jacket was available and squealed with excitement because she knows this is my very favorite color! Ha ha! The jacket has cute gold accent zippers, and also came with a hood (which I don't like, but it snaps right off!). The jacket sent was a Medium, and it fit perfectly. However, with outerwear, I like there to be a little extra room for sweaters underneath. So I messaged customer service, and arranged an exchange for a Large. LOVE IT!!!! Now, if only it would get cold enough here in Texas to wear it! VERDICT: KEPT!

True Story : Loveappella : Granby Raglan Knit Top

Loveappella : Granby Raglan Knit Top ($58)
This shirt is great! The material is SO SOFT. It is a comfy, cozy shirt. The main section is a turquoise and black subtle chevron -- I am not a huge chevron fan but this one was fairly subtle so I was ok with it. It fits well and I didn't want to take it off! Great length, material, colors. This was a great choice for me. VERDICT: KEPT!

True Story : Pixley : Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt

Pixley : Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt ($68)
More chevron. This is a pretty wild print for me, and purple is not at the top of my list. I did not like this shirt when I pulled it out of the box. However, after I tried it on, the fit was pretty incredible! This fabric is also very soft. I would have loved this shirt if it was different colors and pattern...as is, it was just ok. However, since I was keeping the other four items, I decided to keep this fifth item as well so that I could receive the 25% off discount. I'm actually wearing this shirt today, so it was worth keeping I suppose! VERDICT: KEPT BUT ONLY FOR DISCOUNT!

Fix #10 made me really happy!! Even if I had just received that glorious kelly green jacket, I would have been 100% happy :) So the other items were just icing on the cake!! Thank you, Kallie, for taking the time to get to know my preferences, and for the personalized note you always send!!!

Stitch Fix Review #9

True Story Stitch Fix #9 Review

My October Fix turned out to be a great one! I'm very excited to share it all with you!

For this fix, I made some very simple requests:
: No pants or dresses (since I'm trying to lose a little weight)
: All tops (Fall sweaters, vests, long sleeves)

Kallie continues to get to know me better with each fix, and she really takes note of my preferences. I think she did great on this Fix for me! I'm definitely sticking with her!

Octavia Coleman Weave Plaid Infinity Scarf Stitch Fix

Octavia Coleman Weave Plaid Infinity Scarf -- Light Green -- $34.00
This infinity scarf was soooo soft! Huge and snuggly. Kallie knows that green is my favorite color, but unfortunately I didn't really like the color combo in this one. The red, blue and mustard just didn't work for me. :( Also, this scarf is so big I would probably have worn it with my winter coat...which is more of an olive green, so this definitely clashed. I would have kept this if it was different colors. However, I posted this on a Stitch Fix online board and was able to find someone who loved it! So -- VERDICT: KEPT BUT SOLD

41Hawthorn Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater Stitch Fix

41Hawthorn Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater -- Blue -- $68.00
I love this sweater!! I had posted this sweater on my Pinterest board, in a different color scheme. I had never seen this gray/blue/turquoise version, and I love that this is the one Kallie sent to me! It is soooo soft and fits me perfectly. It will be cute on its own, or I can also wear it with a vest. Love it! Anything with turquoise is A++ in my book! VERDICT: KEPT!!

41Hawthorn Shara Herringbone Vest Stitch Fix

41Hawthorn Shara Herringbone Vest -- Dark Grey -- $68.00
I am really loving the vest trend, and I am very excited about this vest that Kallie chose for me! It's very lightweight, which is perfect. The puffer vests are really cute, but this is more classic and can be worn to work too! I also really love that there isn't a big collar on this one. It is a small tweed pattern, and I just love everything about it. VERDICT: KEPT!!

Market and Spruce Denver Cable Knit Elbow Patch Cardigan Stitch Fix
Market and Spruce Denver Cable Knit Elbow Patch Cardigan Stitch Fix

Market and Spruce Denver Cable Knit Elbow Patch Cardigan -- Brown -- $58.00
This cardigan is such a classic...it's a heavy cable knit, with fantastic wooden buttons (like on Irish sweaters). It's a very pretty deep gray color and it has elbow patches which are popular right now. This one fits perfectly as well! Very snuggly. VERDICT: KEPT!!

RD Style Minno Cowl Neck Pullover Sweater Stitch Fix
RD Style Minno Cowl Neck Pullover Sweater Stitch Fix

RD Style Minno Cowl Neck Pullover Sweater -- Light Pink -- $78.00
I really like this sweater a lot! The fit is wonderful -- not too bulky and very slimming. It fits perfectly, and I love the small hem rise on the sides. I was on the fence about the cowl neck and the light pink color though. Pastel colors really don't do it for me, but I liked the sweater enough that I thought about keeping it. However, Chris gave this piece two thumbs down because of the cowl neck and the color. So, I put this one online as well and was able to find a buyer...so VERDICT: KEPT BUT SOLD!!

So...because I was able to keep all five pieces, I qualified for the 25% discount!! My first 5/5 purchase (even though I didn't keep all 5 pieces for myself). I passed the discount on to my two buyers, and am so happy with my remaining three pieces!!! Thrilled with Fix #9!!

And just for fun -- me with my enthusiastic Stitch Fix photographer/hubby!! :) He is always such a good sport and I appreciate his willingness to humor me in my fashion shows!

Looking forward to my November fix! :) Thanks for everything, Kallie!
