what we see

This is probably the most common thing that we see with Ocho...

He LOVES being outside. Even in the 100+ degree weather, he'll stay out there forever. He's a scavenger, and eats whatever he ccomes across. He chews on bark, on sticks, on acorns. It doesn't matter. He's content to gnaw away in the grass...

This is all fine and dandy...except when we want him to come inside. Say, perhaps, when we need to leave the house for work in the morning, and he thinks we're playing "keep away"? Very frustrating indeed. To the point where I'm now taking him out on his leash in times like this, so I have control over the situation.

I find it curious, because he's a pretty independent dog. He doesn't necessarily care if he's around his people. But he's learning. Little Man and Foster love to be around us, and he's catching on. He's starting to come to the back door on his own now, which is a big step. It helps that he gets a yogurt treat whenever he does this! Where before he'd just stay out there until we somehow cornered him, now it's as if all of a sudden he's realizing that we aren't around, and he comes looking for us. That's a good thing!

Where is Ocho in that picture?? OH wait.. I see the tiny little thing now! Man, he looks so small in that back yard! I bet it is a difficult task cornering him! I'm glad to hear that he is catching on to coming to the back door now though!
