so it begins

The house "fixing up" has officially begun...exciting times!!!

Equal parts water and vinegar works wonders!!! We were thrilled to discover this remedy to our filthy grout. Look at the difference:

Night and day, people. Amazing. It looks like we've got a new floor! And to think that I always just thought that our grout was that darker color!

All wallpaper is coming off in the master bathroom. See how hideous this floral wallpaper is???? People who hang wallpaper should be shot. They had this tacky paper combined with a cream diamond pattern? Does that actually go? The diamond paper wasn't horrible, but it's going to.

And then the master bedroom. Holy moly. I forgot to take a "before" picture, but this one shows you a bit of what used to be there. One whole wall in the room was a dark blue striped wallpaper. And the border was awful. Burgundy and blue aztecy floral. The big heavy cream colored drapes. What this picture isn't showing is the HUGE aztecy floral topper that ran across the whole top of the window. Our room looks so big and so bright now. Amazing difference, and it isn't even painted yet!

Excuse the unmade bed and the mess! :)

I think these changes we're making are going to greatly improve the worth of the house. It already looks tons better!

You know what WE'LL be doing for our long holiday weekend! How will you be spending yours?

How exciting!!!! You guys are moving right along there. I suppose.... we can overlook the unmade bed and the mess. I mean you're only under major redecorating there and all. :)

Hope you guys can get a lot accomplished this weekend! We will be celebrating my Father-in-laws retirement.

The kitchen floor is amazing ~ what a difference. I'm in agreement with wallpaper ~ can't stand it...that being said I did love what Pat did with your bathroom in DeSoto ~ the blue striped wallpaper ~ other than that you just don't need it!

BBQ and cropping and cat sitting ~ those cats are putting me on that plane ~ love those cats!
