notable bits

:: No photos to share, as the cable that connects our camera to our computer is at the office...so can't download them until tomorrow...

:: Friday evening, Chris and I had a lovely dinner at Johnny Carinos...and we were seated in one of those romantic little nooks with the curtain closure...how fun! From there, we headed to the Balloon Fest to see the Balloon Glow. It wasn't too windy, so I finally got to see it here in Abilene! I have to say, I saw a Balloon Glow when I lived in Colorado that was totally breathtaking...this was on a much smaller scale. I think we had about 6 balloons for the glow. I think I was able to get a few good shots, and will post them tomorrow. It didn't last very long, and we were home not long after.

:: I'm almost done with the book I've been reading, "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey...this has been a very interesting book. Very educational too, I might add, for this sheltered girl who has never even seen an illegal drug up close and personal. I've got about a chapter left, and I'm interested to see how it turns out. Of course, I remember all of the hoopla that surrounded this book, about it not being a completely truthful account. Still a book worth reading, in my opinion...

:: Saturday...we got up bright and early and headed to the park for Chris to run in a 5K race. It started by 8:00, and by 9:00 we were heading home. Chris took 4th place overall with a 20:05 time...which was a bit faster than he had expected. He was pleased with his 4th place but was even more proud of his 1st place medal for the 30-39 age group. I'm so proud of him! He's going after this goal and doing so well at it! He inspires me...

:: We stopped at Starbucks for some frappacinos afterwards, and alas, they were out of their frappacino mix! :( We settled for something different and much less satisfying.

:: Had a soccer game at 1:30, which our girls won 3-2. We've won all of our games so far and have a chance to go to the Tournament of Champions perhaps...which is held the same weekend as the next marathon that Chris is running in, thankfully there are both in Dallas! That would be one crazy weekend, let me tell you!

:: Had dinner at Texas Roadhouse Saturday evening with our friends Victor and Lucinda. It was fun to sit and chat with them, a good night out with adults! Except Chris forgot his ID in the car, which was parked out on the back 40, and the waitress wouldn't give him a Corona!

:: Sunday was busy busy busy...slept in a bit, and then went to rent a storage unit for all of our "clutter"...got that taken care of and started loading stuff into it. It's a 10x10 unit, and we're pretty sure everything isn't going to fit. But we're doing our darndest! Made three trips back and forth and got most of it accomplished. Our collection of stuff for our garage sale is growing and growing and that makes me happy. We have TOO much stuff and I just want to purge purge purge! Laundry, grocery shopping, and Sonic for dinner...and here we are at 9:48 finally getting to sit down! A blog and then to bed for me...maybe I can finish my book!

:: Had a mini breakdown today...I believe it was between our first and second trip to the storage unit. There are times when it all just is TOO MUCH for me. I was sitting there trying to hold it all in, and Chris asked me and I just started crying. He was so good. I love that man so much. He just came over to me, enveloped me in his arms and just held me and let me cry it out. (I hate crying in front of people, especially Chris...I try my best not to do it!) He held me and kept telling me that everything is going to work out, and that we just need to do what is going to make us happiest in the long run. It was just what I needed.

:: I'm on Day Two of being fully medicated, and am feeling tons tons better. Gotta love drugs! The antibiotic and the 90 degree heat at the soccer game didn't mix too well, and I felt faint for a bit. And I've been drinking water like there's no tomorrow, which is rare for me. If I get through one bottle of water a day I'm lucky. Today I've had three so far, and I just chug it! I have also been extremely HOT, which is strange for me.

:: Busy week ahead...in addition to lots of work at the office and endless house stuff here, I've got a dentist appt. on Wednesday. Bunko is Wednesday evening. And it's October! How is it October already!?!?

Sounds like a busy weekend!

And that cry.. Well it just may have been something that you needed to do. I know you hate to cry, but sometimes that is what it takes! I hope this week is less stressful on you. Just keep thinking that it will all be over soon and you will be relaxing in ya'lls new home!

Congratulations to Chris on his awards in the race this weekend. Way to go!

A good cry is needed be everyone. I think a major cry once a year is perfect and whatever you need in between is o.k. as well.

October ~ love it.

GO CARDS!!!
