weekend

Another weekend is about to wrap up...they go so fast, probably because they are so packed full with stuff to do. Back to work tomorrow, I can get some rest there... :)

Friday evening, went out to dinner and then did a little shopping. I have officially bought a few Christmas presents!! Woo hoo!! And Chris found some good bargains at Dillards, they were having a huge 75% off sale, with 40% more off of that!

Saturday was another crop...had such a nice day of relaxation and friendship! So good and much needed. I was even able to get two kits done, such cute little books. Came home around 5:30, and Chris suggested that we have a Date Night! Woo hoo! I thought that was so sweet...we planned to go to dinner and a movie, except we couldn't find a movie that we wanted to see. There is nothing out right now worth seeing. Blah! It's definitely a movie rut happening...either horror or football or war. Blech. So, we had a nice dinner at Johnny Carinos, and then rented some movies and watched at home. Watched the end of the World Series game (woo hoo, go Cards!!!) and then put Click in. Pretty good movie. I enjoyed it. Chris fell asleep from his long day and finally called it a night and went to bed...

Slept late Sunday. That felt wonderful. It was so cold in the house, Ocho burrowed down into our covers and slept with us until 10:00! That was a treat for sure! Had some breakfast and then got straight to work on laundry and the house. We spent nearly the whole day sanding the kitchen down, and then doing the wipe down of all that we sanded. What a mess. Took forever. Finally got that done. Now just need to cover the floor in plastic and Jon should be able to come over tomorrow evening to spray!!! Grocery shopped, picked up Subway for dinner, and ran to Walmart for dog food. Pooped...

I did have a wonderfully sweet surprise today though!! I was just finishing up the laundry when the doorbell rang. My first thought was, SHIT! I looked like absolute crap, I had sanding dust everywhere, in my hair too...I was still in my pajamas, no makeup, hair a total mess, hot and sweaty from working all day. I really did NOT want to open that door! I peeked through the window and saw that it was sweet Kim and her daughter Kelsey. If it had been anyone else, I probably would not have answered the door! I opened it up, and there they stood with a plate of lemon bars!! This little sweetness in my non-stop day was so incredible, my heart just lifted. Kim's friendship and thoughfulness astound me everyday. Thank you my friend! I apologize for the way I looked!! :)

Speaking of...I'm off to enjoy one of them lemon yummies right now!!!

A Date night! I think that was much needed after all that you guys have been working on lately. Good for you! Sorry that there wasn't anything at the theater you wanted to see, but the movies at home sounds just as lovely to me!

And if that was Looking Bad, then you have nothing to worry about! You looked comfortable, cozy in your home! Honestly, you looked perfectly fine to me! (and if you caught glimpse of me, I hadn't done my hair, or put any make up on, AND I was wearing the clothes I wore from the crop the day before!)

I'm glad you enjoyed your little treat!

It sounds like you did have a very good weekend, even if it was busy. Movies at home can definitely be a plus. You can be really comfortable, no strangers to irritate you AND you can hit pause to go to the bathroom! (That bathroom part would be a biggie for me these days)

That was so sweet of Kim to bring you treats! Especially lemon bars-YUM! And I'm sure you didn't look even HALF as bad as you thought you did.

PS I always have to try at least TWICE to get the word verification right when I post on your blog!
