this weekend

:: Abilene started to thaw out Friday, and our drive home was so nice!!! Not much ice left at all. Things got a little icy again that evening once the temperatures started to drop again. It was indeed a pretty stressful week, comute-wise. It was like nothing Abilene had ever seen. I hope that they are wrong about the next front coming in! I don't know if I can take it! Abilene just doesn't have the equipment to get the roads in driving condition...

:: Friday evening, we went out to eat and stopped at Walgreens on the way home. Well, at the restaurant, Chris took my key to go warm up the Murano...then when we got to Walgreens, we just got out, locked the door, and headed in for a few things. Only, I had not gotten the key back from Chris. I didn't realize that he had put it in the cupholder between the seats! However, the Murano has technology that is supposed to prevent you from locking your keys in the car. Every time in the past, when I have tried to lock the door while the key was inside, it beeped and me and wouldn't lock. I think that technology must've been frozen Friday night, because there was no beeping and it locked up tight! We had to have Mimi get out on the icy roads to bring us the spare key! Oi. If you own a Murano and count on that technology, beware!

:: We went out Saturday to take photos of the house progress...it's really starting to come together now!



Half of the roof is shingled...it's really starting to look like a house! We have windows and it will be all closed in as soon as we get front/back doors and garage doors.

This is the inside back wall of the living room. Fireplace in the middle, two picture windows on either side. The snow is only temporary :)

:: This coming weekend is my scrapbook retreat and I am so looking forward to it!!

:: I'm waiting to go to Walmart today until the Super Bowl is about to start...I'm thinking it should be pretty cleared out by then :) Anything to help my cause, because I just can't handle that place!!!!!

:: I bought some rain boots :) They are so cute. I figure with the snowy weather, they'll come in handy. I can also wear them when it rains, and at cross country meets. Yes, I have little feet, so I was able to buy these in the kids section :) ha!
