Today, my friend and coworker Kathy gave me a "just because" gift...and it made my week!

She walked into my office carrying a pretty pink and green gift bag...when she placed it on my desk, I asked her why and she said "Just because!"

Her card was very sweet, and thanked for for all that I do in a day. And inside the bag was a set of Calgon Hawaiian lotion/body wash/body spray. Mmm!

Clever gift givers make me feel like an even worse gift giver...one thing I say quite often is "Calgon take me away!" And on top of that, it's a Hawaiian scent, and I'm about to hop on a plane and visit Hawaii for the very first time! Such a simple act of kindness, and so clever. And very much appreciated.

In emails afterward, she thanked me for my poise and knowledge and patience...and that she really appreciates the fact that I can calm her and make her feel heard. She also thanked me for keeping calm in situations and handling it all with dignity.

Wow.

Kind of blew me away, considering most days I sit at my new desk wanting to pull my hair out! Feeling anything but poised, anything but in control. It's good to know I'm putting on a good show! :)
