busy weekend

Happy Father's Day!

:: Friday evening, we had dinner at Casa with Neeley and Lauren and her friend Jill. It was a fun evening, as always! We had some delicious frozen yogurt from Nikki's, too!

:: Saturday, I did a few errands for Father's Day, and then headed to the monthly crop at Paula's house. I had a fun day with Paula and Pam, and was able to whip out 15 pages! Not bad, for being so rusty :) I need to put the finihing touches on them at home now, because I didn't take all my supplies with me. But I was very pleased with my progress. Paula had an "Elvis" theme for the day, and we started off with Blue Hawaii. She gave us leis when we walked in, we watched three movies, and even had a few of Elvis' favorite foods: banana pudding, and peanut butter/banana/bacon sandwiches! Those actually weren't too shabby!

:: Saturday evening, we ran a few errands and Chris ordered our grill for the back porch outdoor kitchen!!! It should be in this coming week!! It is the mother of all grills (or father, I guess)...I've never seen such a big grill! This came with our house, but when the builder went to get it, they weren't available. So he cut us a check for it, and we had to wait a bit...not much longer now!

:: Sunday morning, for Father's Day, Aspen made Chris pancakes! His gift was a big red bean bag chair for the media room, and a bottle of "No. 8" label wine...from Ocho!

:: At church this morning, our pastor brought out a little BBQ pit, started a fire, and had us all write down the one fear we have in serving God. They collected all of the little slips of paper, and he threw them on the fire...and then he prayed over it in hopes that we would be freed from that fear. Interesting stuff!

:: This coming week, Chris and I (and a few others from work) will be having dinner with a woman who is coming in from Washington to interview for a position on his team. That should be interesting!! We are taking her to one of the "authentic Texas steakhouses", so she can get a good feel for the area :) Nothing like half a cow to welcome you to TX!

:: This coming Saturday, I am having my very first scrap day with Kim in my new room! I am very excited to show her my new space and for us both to sit and my new table and scrap the day away!

Have a great week! I will try to post layout photos as I get them completed :)
