another weekend bites the dust

We always seem to have very full weekends...even with no plans this weekend, we still manage to fill up every second! I vote for three day weekends every weekend...who's with me?? :)

Right Now...there is a yellow sunflower floating in a bowl on my countertop...Chris picked it from our yard while doing yard work on Saturday, and presented it to me...he is so sweet!

This is something fun I have been wanting to try...I saw the idea on Elsie's blog (see my sidebar)...she is one of my favorite bloggers because she is so quirky. If you don't regularly look at her blog, I recommend that you at least go check out her posts about her recent wedding. And watch the wedding video. It is magical. Anyway, she had a post about doing a fancy little manicure that used glitter polish on her wedding ring finger, as a way of showing off that finger and the ring. I thought it was a really cute idea, and looking at this makes me very happy! I may just continue doing this with every manicure!

Our weekend was filled with lots of eating...Taco Bell Friday evening, Nikki's for lunch Saturday, Skeet's for dinner Saturday evening, Rosa's for Sunday lunch, and yummy home grilled food Sunday evening.

Chris ran 12 miles Friday evening after work...and then he and I were up and on the road at 7:30 a.m. for 18 miles. His achiles has been hurting for a few days, and after about 13 he started having some intense shooting pains. So we did some walking. Not sure what caused it, but I had a little heat episode toward the end too. I think we ended up doing about 15 miles or so.

Saturday we did errands...and that evening we had a movie night in our theater room. Watched "Due Date", which was so so but had a few pretty hilarious parts.

Sunday, we did some things around the house. Chris got up early and did step one of the process of staining our concrete sidewalks in front and back. He did a great job, it looks so good so far!! He will come back over it with a darker color, and then put on a clear coat top. We really like our stained porches and hope the sidewalk ends up similar.

We finished hanging up the rest of the items in the house, and the only thing left is our huge custom painting! It should be ready in the very new picture and we were able to see an in progress picture on Saturday. We are very thrilled with it...can't wait to see the final product and see it on our wall!!! It will definitely be the focal point, and will bring in a lot of much needed color. Pictures to come of that once we get it on the wall...

Well, I feel like I need a little down time before I get the week started...more tomorrow!!
