:: Happy Halloween! Hope everyone had a fun day. We celebrated at work, and multiple people/departments dressed up. (Mine did not). Chris' department looked awesome!!! They were a kickball team from the 80s!!! I have photos and will share them when I can. They are on my computer at work. Unfortunately they didn't win the costume award. Booo! They should have. We had a get together at 10:00 with yummy brunch foods, and it was nice to have that time together.
:: Today I received a random Just Because gift from Chris -- he seems to be on a roll! First the painting, now this! Surely this is the last one...he promised! A special day for us is 11/5 -- it is the day that he proposed, back in 2004. And that is coming up, on Monday. He sat me down this evening and told me so many sweet things -- like it was a just because gift, that it was a gift because I said "yes" all those years ago and because buying it was something I would never do for myself; and because my love has changed his life. I'm sitting there thinking "oh my!!" So wonderful to hear such amazing things from the man I love!! Then he presented me with a silver box from Neiman Marcus...and inside was a gorgeous David Yurman bracelet with peridot stones!!! Oh my goodness...I never imagined I would own a David Yurman...why on earth am I so blessed??????????? Lucky lucky girl right here. Love you Chris!!!!!!!!!
:: Today was also kind of a "beginning" for me. Day 1. I started the Couch to 5K running plan. I have no intentions of becoming a "runner"...or really doing much racing or anything of that sort. But I've seen random people that are going through the program, so out of curiosity I looked it up. The plan really eases you into it, and over a ten month period it will have you running for 30 minutes straight. But the cool thing is that for the first week, the workout looked like this: 5 minutes walking, 2 minutes running, 5 minutes walking. That's it. Anyone can run for 2 minutes right? That's what they have you thinking, and how they reel you in! :) I decided that 12 minutes wasn't enough, and that no matter what the workout was, I would always do at least 30 minutes -- filling in the remainder with walking. So, I started off tonight. Walked 5 minutes and then ran the 2 minutes. That was a very, very long two minutes. I felt very heavy and did I mention it was a long two minutes???? Walking the rest, it is hard to imagine ever being able to run for 30 straight minutes. Guess we shall see. The program seems to work, so I will stick with it. Day 1 done!
:: Watching Duck Dynasty...this show cracks me up! Love Si.
:: Made delicious clam chowder for dinner...yum!!!
