What a great time me and the girls had at the Embellish It scrapbook event!!
:: Thursday evening, after work, we drove to Dallas to stay with Terry's son and daughter-in-law in their adorable house. They were so kind to offer their guest bedrooms to us so that we didn't have to get up super early and drive in all that Friday morning traffic in Dallas!! We had fun visiting with them, and playing with their sweet yellow lab Sonny. We slept great too!!
:: Friday, we got on the road and arrived in plenty of time for the 9:00 am start of the Embellish It event. It was held at the Courtyard Marriot in Allen, TX...we were set up in a big conference room there; three rows of tables, with 6 women at each table. I believe there were about 108 women total. Shelby and her hubby Steve ran the event, and they were fun! Steve was a great guy, and Shelby was LOUD and fun. She did two classes throughout the day...two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening. In each class, we received fabulous packets of product to make 2 two page layouts that are super cute, and Shelby gave us tips to help us along the way. They catered in a delicious lunch of pasta and ceasar salad and yummy desserts. We met two new friends there at our table, named Karen and Jennifer. We really enjoyed Jennifer and are hopeful that we can continue our newfound friendship with her. We scrapbooked until midnight, and then Chris and Aspen arrived to stay in the same hotel.
:: Saturday, me, Chris and Aspen started our journey to St. Louis!!!!! Was a long day of driving, but we arrived at my mom's around 7:00. It was so good to see her and Randy and Roxy!! Mom was waiting for us in the driveway, waving us in...and then she let Roxy out to see us! Lots of hugs to be had! Randy had been deer hunting, and came home early after shooting his deer...so we were happy to see him too!! We chatted for a bit, unloaded all of our goods, and then played Farkle! Randy won, as usual... :)
:: Sunday, we slept in a bit and then Chris and I did my walk/run. 4 min jog, 5 min walk, 4 min jog, 5 min. 8 min of total running. Whew! A little more every day. Then Randy and mom cooked a delicious gourmet breakfast for us! A yummy egg dish, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, bacon...mmm mmm!! Then it was a nice day from there, being lazy and reading magazines and talking. Chris worked on mom's new laptop a bit for her, and then we headed out to find a little fun before meeting up with the Repps for our visit!!! More on that tomorrow...
We love our time with family in STL!!!
