weekend roundup

:: Chris took off work on Thursday and Friday...using up some of his time. That was all fine and dandy, until he decided to work on a wood project on Friday morning. A stray board flew up and hit him in the forehead, leaving a big gash. He texted me a photo and work and said he felt like he was going to pass out. So I shot out of there and headed home to take a look at the situation. We didn't think it needed stitches, so I cleaned it up really well and we bandaged it up with some butterfly bandages. I've been doctoring it since then, and it seems to be healing well. He will still most likely have a scar once it is healed, and it is smack dab in the middle of his forehead!! Thankfully he is ok!!

:: Friday evening, Chris, Aspen and I went to dinner at Red Robbin...then came home and finished up our Walking Dead...now we are done with Season 2. OMG the finale was intense!!!!! Now we need to start Season 3, but we have them all recorded except the first two. Ummm can't watch any until we have those. We need them stat!!!!

:: Saturday was the Christmas crop! It was such a nice day...three of our ladies weren't able to attend though due to sickness and one knee operation. The rest of us 5 had a good day together, and we enjoyed doing our secret santa exchange. We all were spoiled with so many fun goodies!! I can't wait to use all of it on future pages. Thanks to sweet Paula for buying for me...during the crop, I worked on my laptop to size a bunch of photos for printing. I love getting big batches of photos in the mail :) I have about 155 now and will need to work on loading them up. It takes sooo long with our slow slow internet connection out in the country.

:: Saturday evening, Chris and I had dinner at Jason's Deli and then finished up most of the Christmas shopping. Yay!!!

:: Sunday, after church, we had lunch at home and then Aspen and I went grocery shopping. Then we made treats for our departments at work and I wrapped up gifts for the people in my department. Then made dinner and Kevin joined us for sloppy joes and fries.

:: I am feeling much better from my bronchitis. Took my last dose of antibiotics this morning. The cough is almost completely gone. So, I will begin back again with my running this week. It's actually felt kind of weird not running. We'll see how the runs go after taking the week off. My improved diet went pretty well this week. My big goal is to be clean eating here shortly. In the meantime, I am making some changes and will continue to add more. Right now, I have cut out all soda and sweet tea, cookies, candy, cake, sweet crap, chips, and milk. I am eating way more fruits and veggies, drinking almost milk, lots of water, and more protein like tuna, salmon and nuts. I will continue making strides and will be clean before too long. My grandma asked what clean eating is, so I thought I would tell some of the principles here in case you are curious too. Clean eating is basically protein like tuna, salmon, chicken and lean meat, and nuts. Lots of fruits and veggies. Minimal dairy, and what you eat is low fat. Very little processed food, which means anything in a package that has more than a few ingredients in the ingredient list (and nothing you can't pronounce). No sugar. No white bread, white rice, etc. Instead, whole grains. That's about the basics. I'm excited to get back to that and lose some weight. After one week, I already feel less puffy.

:: This coming week is going to be a crazy crazy week. Probably the most insane week I'll have all year. So, that brings me a bit of stress. We have the sales meeting at work, so all the sales managers will be in. I have to give a presentation on Tuesday and that is NOT my strength. Wednesday we will attend a guest speaker in the morning, and Thursday is our company-wide meeting during the day. Our Christmas party is Thursday evening. I have to give out 6 yearly reviews to my employees, which take about an hour each. Keep me in your prayers this week please!!!!
