may date and our weekend

On May 19th, Chris and I had our May Date Night...and it involved something that neither of us has ever done before! We went to a dog show! :) We've both watched them on tv before, and of course, obviously, we both really, really love our pups! So I thought this would be fun for us. We headed to the Expo Center on a Sunday afternoon, and settled into seats to watch the action and figure out what was going on. There were not very many spectators there, so we basically had the entire expo center to ourselves. That was pretty cool! We were able to watch quite a few rounds of finals, and it was such an interesting experience!! We really enjoyed it, and felt it was a great date together.

When we left there once Best in Show was announced, we still had some time before it was time to eat dinner...so we decided to take a trip to the zoo. The Abilene Zoo is pretty small, but they've some improvements to it since our last trip there. Even with those, though, we breezed through...but it was a good way to pass a little time together! From there, we headed to dinner at Lytle Land...mmm mmm! Chris had the quail and I had the steak kabob. We enjoyed some wine and great conversation. A great date all around!! We are really enjoying our dates each month -- I will have to make another Date Box when this one is complete!!!

On the Expo floor, all the dog owners were prepping their dogs...it was fun to see them fluffing up the little ones :) We were able to see lots of fun things! It's definitely a different world!

We had a good weekend here...ate out a few times, and I did a little shopping on Saturday while the boys worked on the shop. I bought three pair of sandals for work. My foot has been bothering me, I have a sneaky suspicion that I might have a bone spur. So my high heels have been bothering me. I also found a cute maxi dress, a dress for work, and a cute summer sweater. A success! I also did a photo shoot of Aspen and her best friend Bailey...took about 168 pics and they turned out pretty cute. I'll be posting some soon!

The week ahead -- friends are coming for dinner Tuesday evening, we are looking forward to that! And on Wednesday, I am taking Aspen to get her driver's license!! Oh my!!! Say some prayers please!! Thursday is my grandparents 60th anniversary!!!! So cool. And Saturday is our June Date Night -- we are going to the flea market and having catfish at Duetchlanders. Yay!!!
