:: Book -- I finished reading "The Time Traveler's Wife" today...such a great story. Loved it. Definitely recommend it...for those of you in my Book Swap group, it's going on my list!!

:: Next Up -- "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult...thanks Melissa C!!

:: Pet Peeve -- okay, one of my little pet peeves surfaced today, and I thought I would share it with you! I really hate when they take a great song, and for some reason decide to put speaking about a tragedy interspersed throughout the song. I was singing along to a song that I really like today, the remake of Listen to Your Heart, and all of a sudden, there are snippets of news coverage on Hurricane Katrina. Grr...there's no need for them to do this!

:: Eyes -- my appointment went fine today. Oddly, my prescription has not changed much at all. The doctor thinks my eye strain and headaches are caused because my contacts are always so dry. I mean horribly dry, to the point where I have a hard time keeping my eyes open. She recommended that we try a different brand of contact made specifically for this problem, and also told me that I need to change them more often...I've just been too cheap to change every two weeks, and always wear them much much longer. I have a trial pair of this new brand, and have to go back for a checkup next week to see how they're doing...

:: Chris' Eyes -- Chris definitely needs to be wearing glasses/contacts whenever he's working on the computer, or driving at night. So he's getting his lenses updated, and then is also getting contacts. She didn't have his prescription in-house, so she had to order them. He has to go back when they get them in, for his lesson on putting them in and taking them out...I am also glad that he'll be wearing his glasses more...he is so dang sexy with those glasses on!!! mmm...

:: My Mom -- she did the oddest thing. She never ceases to surprise me or make me laugh! Last weekend, she got a disposable camera and had her friend take pictures of her and her new boyfriend Randy. I'm dying to see him! My mom is NOT a picture freak like I am, and rarely takes any. Takes her a year to get through a roll of film! So today I get a small package in the mail. And I'm so excited, it's from my mom! This was unexpected! I open it to find the above mentioned disposable camera...with 19 remaining photos on it!! She tells me to finish taking the roll (because it would take her forever), develop the film, and give her copies of any good pics! She is totally insane, sometimes!

:: Kim -- my friend Kim is celebrating her birthday on Sept. 23! This weekend at the crop, we'll all be showering her with our Birthday Exchange gifts...can't wait to give her the one I made for her!!! I will post a picture of it AFTER I give it to her, because it's just fun to make her wait :) We are also planning to spend her special day with her! How fun! We'll be having our second dinner/game night with the wonderful Halfmann family...woo hoo!!!

:: Cool Idea -- Stay tuned...Kim and I have cooked up a very awesome idea (well, it's not original by any means, but we've decided to try it too!)...I will be posting the details either this evening or tomorrow!!
