I'm not a big follower of trendy stuff. My opinion is, by the time you buy the new "it" thing, everyone else has already moved on to something else. Or else every single person is following the trend, and then it just gets burned out. Where is the originality in that??
These sequined purses are prime example number one. These are ALL the rage here in our little Texas town. Do you all have them where you live?? I saw these at the store and thought, my god, how tacky! (I apologize if you have one!) And then within days, they're in every store and every teeny bopper and half the female population is carrying one in an array of garish colors.
Is it a status symbol to be a trend-follower? It shows you are up on the times and are "cool"?
Or is it following along blindly, like sheep? I tend to think the "cool" people are those who really do their own thing and do not conform to any trends.
Embrace yourself! Embrace your own style and the little things that make you YOU!!! Refuse to jump on the bandwagon!!!

I have seen these purses, and a variety of others that are similar. Not crazy about them either, but I thought maybe I'm just too old! I'm in that weird phase now where things seem "too young" or "too old."
I'm with you; I like doing my own thing. My Mom once said that if something was different, I'd like it...and I think that about sums it up!
Oh I am with you on these purses!! Kelsey would die for one, but me on the other hand.. Naww not so much!
I haven't ever really been "trendy" I wouldn't think. Give me a plaid button down shirt and I am all set! *laugh* However, my Dear husband and daughter are trying to get me to come out of the 80s a bit, but if given the choice I would stay with the old tried and trusted!
I've finally caught up on this week's blogs, and this one cracked me up! You know I like trendy stuff, but I refuse to follow the trends if they are ridiculous like this! So far I've refused the trend of capri pants, shrugs and goucho pants and I will not give in to these either! I hate these purses. LOL!
