a day like no other

Whew...what a day!! Like our new address block?? They installed it today. Finished up the chimney. So pretty much, the outside is done now, except for painting the trim and the garage door.

We've been playing around ideas for our new fireplace mantle...and now that it's finally done, it's a little easier to visualize what stuff will look like up there. Over the weekend, we found this really cool old crusty cathedral window (from Virgina, the tag said). The mantle looked a little plain with just that up there, but when I stopped by Michaels for some adhesive for the crop this weekend, I spotted this. Thought they might look good together, so we'll see. Adds a little dimension to it all. NOt 100% sure about this, will have to see it up there, and with everything else in the room too. Maybe we'll just do the metal piece. Who knows.

Tonight, while looking around at the new house, I was walking along outside. There has been so much rain lately, but it was finally caked over. So I was just bebopping along. Until I hit a patch that was deep and NOT caked...and it was a slow-motion comedy show, let me tell you. Arms pumping, trying deperately not to fall on my ass in the mud. Luckily, I didn't...but I was left with this...

Ewww! I do NOT like anything on my feet! And this mud was squishing between my toes as I walked. Nasty.

Got my nails done today after work (luckily, I didn't get a pedicure too!). They look nice. I had to file them down a bit, she left them a little too long. Haven't had acrylic nails in awhile, so it will take some getting used to. I wanted them for the wedding, and figured it would be good to get used to them beforehand. Plus, I'm just so tired of my ugly nails.

Keep your fingers crossed...Kim interviewed with my company today!!!! This position is well-suited for her, and I have high hopes!!!!

Another horrible "alzheimeric moment" for me today...I had a doctor's appointment first thing this morning, and as I was paying afterwards (around 9:10), my cell phone rang. It was my boss, wondering where I was. Holy hell!!!! Now, my boss is sometimes a little scattered, and has been known to miss on stuff like this. But with my brain the way it's been lately, I couldn't be so sure that it was him this time. I searched my email archives when I got back to work, and then had to send a very embarrassed "sorry!!!" email because, yes, I had TOTALLY forgotten to tell him about my appointment!!!! I am always so good about letting him know, and for some reason didn't do it this time. TOO MUCH IN MY BRAIN RIGHT NOW!!!

So, that's my day, in a nutshell...

That picture of your muddy foot cracks me right up!!! To funny. I wish I could have seen the show as you were trying to keep from falling! LOL

Aww. Got to love the picture of you and Chris in front of your house number! Porgress... Much Progress!!

Yes, I'd say you have a bit much on your plate right now! Good thing you don't typically do stuff like not calling in to let the boss know where you are at. I'm sure he will laugh it off this time and not worry about it. This will calm down soon!!

Thanks for everything you've done for me an getting this job at your company. I DO believe I would be a good fit in that position and will keep my fingers crossed and the prayers flowing until I hear something!!

My prayers are in there for Kim also.

Your house is really coming along and I know you are really excited about it all. Good luck with it all and with selling your present one.
