Okay, let's be real here.
I am NOT a bah humbug. I promise you that. I love the holidays! I love Christmas! But America drives me crazy. And each year it gets worse.
I honestly believe that there is some unwritten challenge going on, to see which retailer can get their Christmas stuff out first. Who will have their decorations up first? How early will that first Christmas carol be heard???
This year, it was BEFORE HALLOWEEN.
I'm sorry. Doesn't anyone else find that totally freaking unacceptable??????
I feel so rushed. Rush rush rush through Halloween, okay there's your costume, great you got all that candy, woo hoo Halloween is over, okay now what to cook for Thanksgiving, okay thank you thank you, I'm so grateful and thankful, that turkey was delicious, okay now it's Christmas, finally yay, we can really start the party now, what were we waiting for, what took you so long, open those damn gifts, oh just what I wanted, clean it all up and put it all away and onto the next year.
Doesn't anyone want to slow down and enjoy it all anymore??? Can't I savor Halloween for just a bit? I don't want to weed through Christmas decorations in the store to find the costumes. I just want costumes. Can't we just embrace Thanksgiving for awhile?? Really have some good quality family time and really concentrate on what we are thankful for? I don't want Christmas shopping, I want ghords and horns of plenty. And THEN Christmas. Then I'll start thinking about Christmas.
I don't think it's too much to ask. But it's everywhere. Christmas is already everywhere and I just refuse. Everyone thinks this makes me such a bah humbug, but I would like to argue the opposite.
I just want to enjoy it all. So keep your Christmas carols to yourself until at least December. Even though I don't really like to hear them until Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, at least that is tolerable. NOT in November.
C'mon people!!!!!!!!!!! C'mon America!!!!! Slow down and enjoy what's right in front of you!!!

I don't think your a bah humbug! Not in the least. I'd have to agree with you that things are to rushed now! It use to be we over looked Thanksgiving, but not it ias gone into over looking Halloween as well! I don't like it either. But that certianly doesn't make you a bah humbug!
YOU ARE TURNING INTO YOUR MOTHER IN SO MANY WAYS!!! IVE BEEN PROTESTING WHAT CHRISTMAS HAS BECOME FOR YEARS NOW. AND I USED TO BE THE CHRISTMAS FAIRY!!
I REFUSE TO PLAY AS WELL.
I love Christmas carols, I mean LOVE them but if I have to go to the grocery store and listen to White Christmas the day after Halloween I'll find a new grocery store! It is really irritating, when this should be a joyful time of expectation. That used to be part of the fun, looking foreword to December. Does this mean we are old? It used to be, it used to be......
Not a bah humbug at all! With the exception of a couple of things (Like Christmas cards that take me forever to address!) I don't want to see Christmas stuff this early. I'll admit to listening to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night while cleaning, but I generally don't get the real Christmas bug until Thanksgiving. I like to enjoy that time too. (My husband, on the other hand, ir ready to start looking at the Christmas stuff as soon as the stores put it out!)
You go girl! I won't turn the calendar page until that day as I do not want to rush the day we are in!
I thought of you the other day when Ashleigh was singing Jingle Bells...I remember how you used to fuss about Christmas music in October...so I'm guessing your Mom doesn't start so early anymore?
LOL
