a letter

Why is it such a glorious feeling to receive a letter in the mailbox??

And not just any letter...a beautifully handwritten letter from my grandma. Even better!

She and I write when we can...which really seems few and far between. Life is busy on my part, and she feels like she has nothing interesting to say...

But yesterday!! Yesterday, I opened up that mailbox and saw her handwriting. And smiled. Because the envelope wasn't in the shape of a card...this was going to be a letter!!! I can't tell you how happy I was. I felt elated!!!

After all the girls left from bunko, I opened up the letter and actually read it word for word outloud to Chris. He enjoyed it too. My grandma is such a hoot. She thinks she has nothing interesting to say, but I sure enjoyed every single word.

"I belong to the Red Hats...some lady from church lends me her hat, I just plop it on my head and go! I don't even want to see what I look like, I'd probably scare myself."

She's so cute!

The lost art of letter writing in the age of email. Snail mail definitely has it's benefits!!!

Oh Kelley, That is great. Your grandma does sound like a hoot! Opening the mailbox to a hand written letter from someone is such a thrill. I'm with you, the Internet has sure taken away from that method of communication and I miss it!
