I've had two bizarr-o experiences within the last week, both of which happened to occur with our receptionists at work!
:: One morning, I walked into work and passed the receptionist's desk. It wasn't the normal receptionist, it was the one who works the phone before the regular woman gets to work. As I walked by, she said to me, "You look sooooo pretty without makeup!" I stopped in my tracks, dumbfounded. What do I say to that, when I have just spent a good 20 minutes applying every type of makeup in the bag? Foundation, concealer, blush, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, eyebrow gel. Finally, I said, "Uhhh...thanks...I'm actually wearing makeup though!" She looked at me like I was crazy, and I looked at her like she was crazy. I guess I must be a master makeup applier...I look au natural... :)
:: The other experience happened today when I left the office at 5:00. The after-5 receptionist was there, and she had a trainee new employee sitting with her, learning the ropes. I said a pleasant good night to them each, and when I was halfway out the door, I heard one of them say something. I popped back in and asked what I had missed. She had told the new girl, "She's the most beautiful one." Talking about me. That took me wayyyy off guard. I only know this woman slightly, and for her to say something like that stopped me in my tracks. How on earth do you respond to something like that? I gave her an embarrassed smile and thanked her, told her that she had made my day.
These are just off-the-wall, out-of-the-norm things, and they've happended so close together. I thought it was worth documenting here. I think our receptionists may be crazy! :)

Maybe you are crazy....you are beautiful!
I'm with Susan. There aint nothing wrong with those receptiontist! You are the crazy one! They were both very valid in their comments. You are very beautiful on the outside AND the inside!
They aren't crazy. You are beautiful and although you wear makeup, you don't look overly done. Just naturally beautiful.
Just don't let it go to your head. ; )
