happy mother's day

The weekend was good, for the most part...

:: Friday, we had some rough patches with Aspen. It's hard to be 12. It always comes back to lying and bad grades and not being responsible...

:: Saturday, we looked at three houses. The first one was amazing, inside and out. We loved a lot about the layout, except that the all the bedrooms were together in a bundle, and the two bedrooms besides the master were very small. The backyard of this house was amazing...a salt water pool with stone, and just very nice landscaping. There were two living areas, but no office space or scrapbook room space. So, not really an option. The second house we didn't really like much. The third house has a lot of possibility, and is six year old and in spotless condition. Three bedrooms, with a great master suite. The two other bedrooms are a decent size. Nice living room and kitchen. An upstairs "man cave"; also, on the main floor, a great room for a scrapbook room. The backyard was very nice. No pool, but a great patio and even a fountain. Room for a pool if we ever wanted one. Definitely an option.

:: Sunday, after church, Chris treated me and Mimi to a Mother's Day lunch at Cotton Patch. It was delicious, and very nice to be treated. Aspen agreed to spend a little time with her mom today, and I am proud of her for that. Hopefully they'll have a good day together.

:: Now it's time to finish up laundry and help Chris clean out the weeds in the flower beds...woo hoo!! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there...especially MINE. She's the best mom in the world!!
