two days worth

:: I had one of those days that feel overwhelming and like everything you encounter is just a big pile of poop. Work was crazy, but I was looking forward to a quiet lunch. Chris was eating with his friend Jon, and with Aspen still at running camp, I would have the house all to myself...eat a quick lunch and then snuggle up on the couch with Ocho to unwind and read. Hmm. Walked in to find a huge puddle of pee by the back door courtesy of Little Man. Lovely. (Bright side: at least it was on the tile). Let the dogs outside only to have them return with muddy paws. Do you know how long it takes to clean 12 paws? By the time I was done with all of that, I scarfed down my lunch, laid on the couch for 3 minutes, and back to work I went. Nothing life shattering happened, just a very stressful day.

:: I did finish my book.
The Forgotten Garden turned out to be pretty interesting. The first half was very slow and dull, but it did pick up. Not sure that it is really one I recommend reading, but I did enjoy the last half. My buddy bookmobile has now given me The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. Not entirely sure about this one...it's a true story and about the Holocaust. Hmmm.

:: Sorry for the lack of post yesterday...I had a packed evening getting ready for my candle party, hosting my candle party, cleaning up after my candle party, and then watching SYTYCD before falling into bed. My party was a success! I had a lot of fun and hope that all my guests did as well. And I must say, my sales so far are probably double what I was expecting. And there are a few more orders I may get. I had seven girls and a handful of kiddos. Just a fun evening with some crazy dogs mixed in! :) A little hard to entertain sometimes, with dogs. Especially three of them.

:: I am OFF ON FRIDAY!!!! And it could not have happened at a better time. After all the stress of this week, I am in dire need of a "brain shutoff". A three day weekend should help wonderfully. Super doses of stress really make me slack on the "positive attitude" I strive for at work...need to reign myself in this weekend and start back fresh on Monday. We are off so that we can drive to Dallas and pick Aspen up from running camp. We can sleep late and head out around 11:00...she has to be checked out by 3:00. And no, organizations don't give any thought to parents actually having to work! I think Aspen has had a great time at camp, looking forward to hearing all her stories. And I'm hoping to talk Chris into dinner at PF Changs before we head home :)

:: SYTYCD...I was very sad with the two that got the boot tonight. My ballerina has left us...granted, Kayla is my favorite girl by far, but I had a special place for the ballerina Melissa. Not to mention she performed my favorite dance of the season. And Ade!!! How on earth could America vote off ADE instead of EVAN???? Evan so needed to go. I can not believe he'll be in the finale. My vote is for either Kayla or Brandon. Both are technically amazing. Chris is rooting for Jeanine. Who he apparently thinks is hot, and I don't understand THAT one!

:: We are having an Open House this Sunday...hopefully we'll have a good turnout. This means we have to find something to do for two hours with three dogs. Not an easy thing to do. The woman who looked at our house is waiting on her husband to return from his deployment, which should be on August 14th. We'll see what happens with them after that.

And now, it's 10:00...time to relax and begin that brain shutoff. Have a great weekend!
