:: Food for THOUGHT

By nature, Jesus was fully God and also fully human and lived as such. He chose moment-by-moment to remain grounded. Although he is fully God, he never drew upon his nature as God to do anything. He only lived out his relationship with God, living in the very same manner that God desires to be in relationship with every human being. Jesus was just the first to do it to the uttermost -- the first to absolutely trust God's life within him, the first to believe in God's love and his goodness without regard for appearance or consequence. So, when Jesus healed the blind, he did so as a dependent, limited human being trusting in God's life and power to be at work within him and through him. Jesus, as a human being, had no power within himself to heal anyone. Those things were done by God, through Jesus. Remember this, humans are defined not by their limitations but by the intentions that God has for them. -- The Shack, W.M. Paul Young

What are your thoughts on that?

I thought the Shack was a very eye opening book...it was good. I am Catholic and a lot of things about the catholic church (ust listen to the news this AM) are hard for me to get past at times...it then makes it hard for me to just focus on my faith. But I loved that this book was about that, the faith...it opened my eyes to look at a things with a more clear perspective and the knowledge that I am in control more than I think I am...I am glad you read it and enjoyed it as well...So wish we lived closer and could swap books, do a book club, all of the above...
