:: Friday evening, Aspen and I went to dinner at Ihop and then to Target and Walmart for the remaining items she needed for running camp. We rented two movies as well, and watched one when we got home. "Dear John" was pretty good. We had both read the book, and I think there were some distinct differences in the movie. But it was good, and made us both cry multiple times.
:: Saturday, we piddled around the house for most of the day. I checked all of Aspen's packing for camp to make sure she had everything, and then we watched our second movie. "Leap Year" was cute, but pretty predictable. We enjoyed it though. Saturday evening, we attended the wedding of my boss' son, Brett. Brett just so happens to also be the Youth Minister at our church, so he and Aspen are buddies. Here we are before heading to the wedding:

The wedding was beautiful and emotional, very touching. We decided this was Aspen's first wedding, besides ours. Crazy! We got home around 10:30 or so...
:: Sunday, we picked Kim up at 11:30 and headed to Dallas to drop Aspen off at running camp. That is three hours each way, so 6 hours total driving. I am not a driver. I get sleepy right away, so Chris typically does all of our driving. Kim agreed to come along with me to keep me nice and awake the whole trip, and she took her job very seriously!! I did not get sleepy one single time, and the 6 hours flew by. She and I chatted the entire way, and it was really good time for us to catch up. Life gets busy and even though we work in the same building every single day, there are always tidbits that fall through the cracks. Thank you so much, Kim, for joining me!!!
:: We dropped Aspen off at about 3:30 and got her checked in and settled into her dorm room. Helped her make her bed, and then she was ready for us to leave her to her experience! She will have a great week, though the running will be tough. Hopefully she trained hard enough and won't have too difficult of a time.
:: From there, Kim and I spent some time at Borders and JoAnn's...we had lunch at Cracker Barrell and dinner at P.F. Changs. Yum!!! Kim doesn't like Chinese food, but I think she was pleasantly surprised by how yummy P.F. is! I'm proud of her for agreeing to even try it! Didn't get home until about 10:40, and pretty much fell into bed. Woke up exhausted this morning and took me awhile to get going at work!!
:: I bought quite a stash of books to replinish my stock! Very excited! I was getting pretty low, so needed to buy a few more. I bought this one, this one (author of Friday Night Knitting Club and really liked her), this one (author of Time Travler's Wife and LOVED that one), this one (a companion read for the Bible, to explain things a little further), and this one (trying out a new author who has a handful of possible future reads).
So......a pretty full and fun weekend, overall!! Chris is back in Kampala and will be boarding his first flight home tomorrow evening at 9:50 p.m. By Wednesday at 1:40, he is scheduled to land in Dallas, and then a three hour drive will bring him home to me. Finally!!!!!!!!! I am beside myself with joy in anticipation of his return!!!!
