cruise post #5

Friday, 4-18-14 -- Day at sea

Our final day at sea...and we enjoyed it! We started with a workout, then breakfast at the buffet...and then we attended the awards ceremony for our company. It was held in Club Fusion, and awards like Salesperson of the Year, Top 3 Funeral Homes, etc were handed out. They had a buffet of finger foods, and a nice cake and ice sculpture. It was great to honor our great employees and clients, and see them all beam with pride.

We did a lot of relaxing the rest of the day...a highlight was 3:00 tea! Kim, Gary and Zack joined us, and we all enjoyed drinking our tea pinkies up! There were little crumpets as well, and I think we all had fun. We then got ready and went to our final dinner on the ship...and took a fun photo with our waiter, Manuel. He was a bit dry all week, but he was definitely a good waiter. And then...final martinis at Crooners! We were lucky enough to get a photo with our favorite martini waiter Ron...ah, the memories!!

I loooooove hot tea! Plain. The stronger the better.
Kim is not a big tea drinker, so I was thankful that she joined us!
Mr. Baber enjoyed the crumpets :)
Only Zack could look half drunk while drinking tea ha ha! He didn't just go for the pinkie, he had the three finger pose happening!

The Port of Los Angeles, where we woke up the next morning
On the deck of the ship, waiting for disembarkation...so sad to finish our amazing week!!! (and chilly, as you can see!)

Saturday, 4-19-14 - Disembarkation

We woke up Saturday morning and the ship was docked in Los Angeles...we had put our luggage out the night before, so we got ready and gathered up our few remaining things. We went and enjoyed our last buffet breakfast, and then walked around the ship until it was our time frame for disembarking. When our time came, we gathered up in a certain spot, then went through customs and then left the ship. Onto the shuttle bus and back to the airport...and then the journey home. Our flight was uneventful, and we arrived back in Dallas around 5:30 p.m. We took the shuttle back to our hotel, found our car, and headed for the first Mexican restaurant we could find -- Uncle Julio's :) Zack, Steven and Blaise joined us, and it was our last hurrah before the 3 hour drive back to Abilene.

A big thank you to our wonderful company, FDLIC, for another amazing incentive trip! We are so blessed by the opportunities we receive there. We will always hold fond memories of this cruise in our hearts!!!
