Friday in Fredericksburg

10-21-16

I took off on Friday, and it was so nice to sleep in a little and leisurely get packed for our trip. I also ran to Kohl's and found a few goodies -- a new pair of black pants for work, a pair of bootcut bluejeans, and a black cardigan. Woo hoo! Chris worked in the morning and then, after taking his boss to the airport, he did a quick run and then we got on the road to our favorite town!

All three couples ended up arriving at the rental house at nearly the same time, without even planning it. Jyl and John checked us in with the leasing company, and we explored our little house with lots of ooohs and aaaahs. We were very happy with the rental! Then we decided it was time to get the fun started!

We headed to, of course, Grape Creek for a few drinks...since we are members there, we were able to sit on the patio and enjoy the scenery.

Jyl was too cute -- she wanted to do toasts all weekend!
This one started as a toast and ended as a prayer, amen! Ha!
Cheers to good friends and a fun weekend!
Before leaving the winery, we took a few photos in the vines...this was our
full group -- me and Chris, John and Jyl, and Julie and Dustin. Fun!
The boys in front of Lincoln Street after a little wine...
Once we freshened up and Jyl had a little dance party to some Pitbull music,
we headed to our reservations at The Cabernet Grill. We thoroughly enjoyed our
evening here with a great waiter, fantastic food, and wonderful drinks!
I had the chicken fried steak topped with lobster, and Chris had the filet.
Oh and I really enjoyed a chocolate martini!
We shared a few desserts...they all seemed to like this blueberry bread pudding.
This chocolate cake was super delish! I had a few bites...
And Julie finished us off with this great display of talent! :)

Day 1 of our trip was sooo fun!
