It's not every weekend that you can say you went to see Pitbull in concert :) I'm so excited that I can say that!
Friday, we left work early and made our way north. It took us about 3.5 hours to get up there. We stopped at the Hampton Inn in Gainsville, dropped off our belongings and freshened up, and then headed to the Winstar Casino, which is right across the Oklahoma border. We had an incredible evening!
We got settled into our seats by 8:30, and the concert was set to begin at 9:00. We weren't sure if there would be an opening act. At 9:07, the lights dimmed, and Pitbull started! He got right after it, and it was an instant party in the theater!
Pitbull's music has a Latin flair, and is great dance music...everyone was on their feet and dancing the whole night! Pitbull has so much energy and is so charismatic...it was crazy to see it live! He talked a little here and there, but for the most part he was singing and dancing with his backup dancers. He's got the moves! It was a fantastic hour and a half show, and then he bowed and left the stage. No encore. It was the first concert I've ever been to where there was no opening act and no encore.
After the show, we walked around the casino and looked at all it had to offer...and then stopped at the Toby Keith restaurant there to have a very late meal. On our way out, Chris did some very brief gambling, and cashed out when he was $0.10 in the positive!!! He really cracks me up. Big winner, there!!
What an incredible Christmas present from my hubby!!!! We are so blessed to have these experiences together.
Saturday morning, we slept in a bit, had breakfast at the hotel, and then started our journey home. We arrived around 2:30 and had the rest of the day to spend at home, as well as Sunday!! It was a perfect weekend!!
