a million little pieces

So...I just finished this book up last night...a very good read...

{disclaimer...if the "F" word offends you, this isn't the book for you!}

My friend Laura lent this book to me, and even with all of the controversy, I thought it would be a good book to read. And, if you'll remember, I am a very naive girl, with no experience around drugs.

This was an BIG eye opener for sure...wow, what a life that guy lived. I know that some parts were embellished (hence the controversy) but wow. I learned a whole lot about drugs. The lifestyle. What it does to you. What it does to your family. Once the drug has you, you're pretty much a slave to it. It's amazing what the people in this book did for drugs. Degrading this. Awful things. The main girl, Lilly, her whole story made me want to puke several times.

James wrote the book in an interesting way, and I sort of enjoyed that. No proper paragrahp structure. More like just his freeflowing thoughts. It really helped you understand his character.

And at the end, there was a recount of where everyone in the book is now...that was sad to read too...you get to know these characters and are rooting for them, only to have them relapse, kill themselves, what have you.

Drugs are bad, children. Don't look at them, don't try them "just once"...

There's supposedly a sequel...I will have to look into that!!!

I want to read this book as well! I am just as naive as you. I wasn't ever faced with Drugs. I can't say I've even seen any up close, so I'm sure it would be a major eye opener for me as well!
