Not a second was wasted this weekend! Super busy and very productive!
:: Friday...rushed to the bank to get money for our garage sale, then home for our 6:00 meeting with a realtor. She was spunky, knowledgeable, anal, and to top it all off, she has a very close relationship to our future builders, which will be a great thing! She even gave us some little tips to help us. She wants to % we are willing to pay, and she thinks the house is worth what we were thinking. Woo hoo! After talking with her for about 2 and a half hours, we're pretty sold on her. Had a late dinner and then worked until about 1:00 getting stuff ready for the garage sale.
:: Saturday...up at 5:00 a.m. to get everything set up for the garage sale. People starting arriving at 6:30 a.m. I was pretty much in the garage until 3:00. Chris and Aspen went to the soccer game at noon, which they won 9-0. Cleaned up from the garage sale (we made about $400), then we went to Billy's to see his progress on the kitchen cabinet doors. Not going good. It's taking him a good 2 hours per door to remove the paint. Grrrrr. At his prices, we can't afford that! So now we have two options: buy new doors, or see if someone can sandblast the paint off. I'm calling on that tomorrow. We went to Lowes to check on buying new doors, and it will be at least $40 per door...and we have 29 doors. That certainly wasn't in the budget! Had a nice dinner out and then worked on more house stuff.
:: Sunday...slept in until 10:00, but it wasn't enough (of course, that included a 6:30 am interuption to take Ocho out and feed him)...then started working on taping off the kitchen. Jon will be coming in to spray everything white...the cabinet facing, the paneling, the trim, the back door. It took us all day to tape off, and we still aren't done. We should be able to finish up tomorrow, and then start sanding. Jon should be able to come in to spray by Thursday, hopefully. Billy came over around 3:30 to work on electrical stuff since he can't work on the doors. He put up our new fan in the kitchen, and moved the kitchen fan to the master bedroom. He got up in the attic and hooked up our recessed lighting, and the difference this makes in the bedroom is astronomical! Looks fabulous. He's having some problems with the set up of the wiring, and will be back to work on it some more this week. Chris started busting up the tile in our entry way...this was the one thing the realtor recommended that we change. Chris will get it all up, and Billy will lay down the new stuff. Throughout all of this, I did 7 loads of laundry, went grocery shopping, went to Lowes for lightbulbs and switches, looked at Target for a wedding gift but found a PERFECT purse for myself instead while waiting to get on the registry machine.
I'm exhausted. The bags under my eyes are about as big as my fabulous new purse! And you know I like big purses!
A busy week ahead...stuff to do with the new house we're going to build, stuff to do with the house we're trying to sell, stuff to get ready for the crop this weekend, a birthday gift to make for a scrapbook friend, stuff to take to Goodwill that didn't sell in the garage sale, stuff to take to storage, stuff to take to the dumpster. When we finally finally are settled into a new house and this is all said and done...I'm going to be doing a LOT of relaxing. I promise you that!
