halloween at fdlic

For the first time ever, my department (Marketing) decided to dress up together under one theme! We picked Lord of the Rings, which gave us a lot of variety. And I think we looked DANG good as a group!!!

We ended up with 2nd place in the costume contest unfortunately...

But, we won the pumpkin carving contest!!

We usually have our newest department member carve the pumpkin, so this year that was our new graphic designer Faith. She did an amazing job! She carved a hand holding a gold ring, placed it on lava, and even had dry ice coming out from inside the pumpkin!! Pretty cool!!! For our first place, our department wins lunch at the restaurant of our choice...so that will be fun!! We'll let our Faith decide on the restaurant...

Here I am as Arwen, the elfin daughter of the Elf-Lord who chose to forsake her immortality because she loved a mortal man...

And our fearless leader, Jeff, as the mighty wizard Gandalf...at different times of the day, he could pass as Santa, a monk, or Moses :)

This is Ms. Faith as Legolas, the Woodland Elf who was an amazing shot with the bow...

Kathy made an extremely evil Saruman, who created armies to start a war in his quest for the ring...

And Victor, who didn't want to dress up with us...we coerced him finally! He came as Strider...the roaming warrier who turns out to be the King in the end...and would you believe it, Victor ended up winning 3rd place on individual costumes!!!

It was a fun day...the October luncheon is always a fun one for our company...
