Moving...it's for the birds! Too bad I'll be doing it again in about 4-6 months! :)
:: Saturday, we spent most of the day preparing all the last minute things for moving. Packed up all the stuff we had been using all week, fixed a few things, got organized for the big event the next day. Pretty tiring day.
:: Sunday, we got up early, and all of our helpers had arrived by 9:00 a.m., ready to work hard! I must say, we have some amazing friends...they worked, without complaint, from 9:00 a.m. until about 7:00 p.m. We moved everything from the house we sold to our rental house in about four and a half loads. We had two trailers, two SUVs, three pick up trucks...we just have way too much stuff! It was a long day, but we all worked together and got it accomplished. Our rental house is about 1000 square foot smaller than what we are used to, so it's been interesting!! We have stuff in storage, stuff in the attic, stuff in the garage. We brought in as much as we could. I spent the first night getting the kitchen in order and our bathroom and bedroom. Mimi worked on her room and Aspen worked on her room. By the time we all fell into bed around midnight, the house was very well on its way to being complete.
:: Monday, Chris and I were both off work. Our first mission was to super super clean the house we sold, so we got up early, had some breakfast, and headed over. Five hours later, it was done, and we were saying goodbye to the house...it was a good house, and it's hard to picture some other family living there. We built it and we're the only ones who've lived there...it's ours. But, no more. After that, Mimi brought us Mr. Burger for lunch, and then we headed back to the rental and got it all finished up throughout the rest of the day. I managed to fit in a trip to Walmart for groceries (it was the 15th, pay day, and was a complete zoo....blah!!!!!!!!), and I was 100% exhausted when I fell into bed. But, the house is in order and we feel like we're settled for the next few months.
:: Tuesday, it was back to work. It felt good to sit down for a few hours!!! It was a whirlwind of a day, in my new position. Chris and I left at 3:30 and went to sign the documents for closing on our house! We signed on all the appropriate lines, and handed over the keys. Then the buyer came to sign as well. We get to pick up the check tomorrow morning, and then it is a completely done deal!!!!!!
:: So glad that the timing was right this go-round...we just had to be patient. We were not supposed to get those other two houses, and now we're about to start builder our dream home. We are very, very blessed...
