my weekend retreat

So, over the weekend I went away to camp :) Well, not really...I went to my retreat, which was held at Butman Methodist Camp and Retreat Center. We had the Hillside Lodge all to ourselves, with bunkbeds in the rooms and a huge open area with tables for scrapbooking.

Kim, Terry, and I bunked in room 3, and each had our own bottom bunk...here's mine:

I spent the weekend doing a plethora of things. All of my scrapbook supplies are currently in storage since we are in a rental waiting for our house to be finished. So, I worked on recipes/menus and sizing 300+ photos for printing and color correcting 450 Uganda photos and knitting more of my mom's scarf. We watched a lot of movies, talked, laughed, played a few games. It was a wonderful, relaxing, productive weekend and I loved every minute of it!!

One big highlight of the retreat, for me, was a hike I took with Kim and Terry...we went up the big hill and along the way saw quite a few crosses. Many of them quite large!! Parts of the hike were a bit rough, like the very steep wooden stairs at one point. But, we rested at the top at the foot of a big cross, and I could've stayed there all day!

I'm already looking forward to next year!
