another update

:: We had a wonderful visit with my grandma and grandpa at their condo! We arrived with Taco Bell in hand and enjoyed our lunch while chatting with them. They are in their 80s and are doing so good...it was a joy to spend some good time with them, one on one...love you guys!!!

:: From there, we went to Chesterfield Mall and split off three directions :) Our mall in Abilene is sub par, so we were excited to shop the stores here. I started at Archivers, the best scrapbook store...and then proceeded down the mall. Ended up with a new sports bra :) Aspen did great -- got a Christmas present for her boyfriend, a pair of brown boots, two scarves, and a shirt. Chris did the best and bought three autographed photos of sports people - the best one being David Freese, the 2011 MVP of the World Series. Success!

:: Then we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Stoney River, a legendary steakhouse. Oh my, that food was sooo good! We had steaks (mom had fried lobster), and baked potatoes, mac and cheese, mushrooms, asparagus...and dessert! Cheesecake and the most decadent chocolate cake...mmmmm! It was a great evening with my mom and Randy, and we enjoyed treating them. We will definitely go back there, it was delicious.

:: The next day, we went to Chesterfield Valley and walked around there...Chris registered for his Turkey Trot, and I got running shoes! The shoes I have are not running shoes, and that makes a big difference. The girl fitted me and analyzed my feet, and then picked out three shoes that were best for me. I found a good pair and can't wait to try them out for the first time. I know it will feel much better!! Also bought some running gloves that are lightweight...I get so hot when I run, but also need to stay covered when it's cold. Also found some goodies at World Market, love that store. Started my Christmas shopping!!! :) Then we stopped at Starbucks and wasted a little time, drinking frappachinos and hot chocolate...mmm!

:: Then we headed to my grandma's to visit with my McCarthy side of the family. We had a great evening! Ordered in some pizza and wings and just had a fun night of stories and laughing. It's always good to be with them, it's loud and fun and I don't feel like I'm the loudest one in the room :) It was good to see them all and the kiddos too! They are getting so big! We had fun.

:: Today, we are heading to have lunch with my mom on her lunch hour, and then we'll bum around. This evening we're visiting with Amy and her boyfriend!!! Our trip is going tooooo fast....
