Finding my planner for the new year is always one of my favorite things to do. I love picking out the one I want after searching high and low to see what's available. I love the process of writing in all the important birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I'm a freak, yes.
And then inspiration hit me. While reading Donna Downey's blog one day, I saw that she had designed her own planner and had it bound at Staples. Hmmm...surely as a scrapbooker AND a graphic designer, this is something I could accomplish as well :) And the wheels in my head were off and running.
I completed the design of it today, and I love it! I just need to print it and get it bound now. And then it's a done deal!
I wanted the design to be simple and clean. Each week has one side with one of my favorite photos, and one side with the actual calendar. By each picture, I've written a brief comment to spark a memory or make me smile. I am looking forward to the coming year, and moving my way through the planner.
I am thinking of also designing a more generic planner, with no "people" pictures. It would have all of the cool nature shots we've taken: flowers, sunsets, rainbows, waterfalls, etc. I could possibly sell these through our side business, Doodad Designs. That will be something to work on...
For now, I am thrilled to have this nearly accomplished! Thank you, Donna, for the inspiration!

OH Kelley! This is wonderful. I love this so much. I would love to see it when you get it printed and bond. I agree with PTS you SHOULD sell them! I myself would buy one for sure!!!
LOVE IT!!!! I've been thinking of doing one for myself, and maybe my mom & mother-in-law. Selling them is a great idea too.
And girl, turning 30 is NOT the end of the world. {Take it from someone who will be ::gulp:: 33 in a few months!}
