medicine haze

I remember the days when you bought some over-the-counter medicines to kick a cold...then all was well. Now, these medicines just make you feel a little better for 4-6 hours, but don't really do anything to make it go AWAY. I finally broke down today and went to the doctor for this crud I've got. I'm tired of waking up in the middle of the night, coughing coughing coughing.

Basically, he told me I have the crud. That'll be $25 please! However, he came back into the room with a big white bag, which just so happened to be full of all the medicines I need to take to get rid of this. No prescription for me! Very excited about that. Antibiotics, decongestant, and nasal spray...everything a girl needs to get back to feeling like herself!

The best part of going to the doctor is the waiting. Okay, you may think I've really lost my mind, but what a great chance to read! I took my new CK magazine, and settled into the waiting room, expecting a good half hour there. She called me in right away! I was floored. Then, once I was in the exam room, I expected to be at least 15-30 minutes before I saw the doctor. Settled in again for some reading. And dang if that man didn't waltz right in! I was there and back to work in a total of 30 minutes. I read maybe one paragraph, tops! Oh well...

Didn't walk with Kim tonight because she had an event to take care of, so I actually came home and laid down for a bit. There is something sweet and out of the ordinary about sleeping with the light shining in your window. I really love taking little naps...but always end up feeling worse when I wake up. Is anyone else like that? Hate it. So, I've had a headache all evening. Add it to the list...

In other news...yesterday, when I went out to my car to head to the grocery store, it was completely dead. Time to change the battery. I'm so happy this happened in our own garage, instead of waiting until I was stranded somewhere. That would have been so much worse. I got a new battery at Walmart and Chris got me all hooked up. Hopefully that was all of the problem...

And you'll be happy to hear that I've actually put forth a little effort and at least took the nail polish OFF my fingernails. My mom so kindly informed me that "no polish is better than chipped polish"...okay, okay...

Wow, what a post. Sickness, dead batteries, and nail polish. This, friends, is the stuff of great reading! I'll chalk it up to medicine haze and move along...straight to bed!

*laughing* about medicine haze.. :)

I Missed our walk last night indeed!

Glad that your doctor gave you all those samples and you didn't have to spend a small fortune at the pharmacy! Hope your feeling better already!

Ugh.. sorry to hear about the dead battery, but thankful for sure that it was at home and not some place else!

Keep Smiling!
