watching the sun set

:: Chris agreed that the table was good for the entry way, so off to Target I went after work. They were out of them! There was a rain check, because they were on sale since I saw them on Monday. So, I got that, and will keep checking back until they have it back in stock. Dang it! On a good note, though, I ran into Kim and Kelsey...and that was a treat!!

:: Ever heard of
this book? A group of people at work did a book study with this book, and apparently it is definitely worth a read. Kim can vouch for that, she was in the book study. Chris and I may need to read it more than anyone, as we are still having the same, tired problems with our 'tween that we always have. Lying, laziness, bad grades. We are two anal perfectionists, so it kills us when something isn't done to the best of Aspen's ability. Or even half her ability. It makes absolutely zero sense to us that she could have two failing grades going into finals week, and she plans to cram just a little bit at home and be home free after taking the finals. What? Even if she does great on the finals, the grades probably wouldn't be raised higher than C's. Better than failing, sure, but a C in this house will still land her in the land of grounding. Which won't make for a fun summer for anyone. And, her Coach Art told them all tonight that anyone ending up with a failing grade should not show up to practice on Monday. So that could be affected. And if she gets a failing grade, she won't be allowed to run Cross Country in the fall. Lots of things weighing on these grades that she puts so little effort into. Where's that link? I need to place an order...

:: This weekend, we are heading to Dallas to take Chris' car in for it's 6 month checkup. While there, we're going to stop by Whole Foods so that I can spend my gift certificate that I got for my birthday! Can't wait for that. I'm sure we will also hit Luke's Locker, Chris is wanting to change running shoe brands. I'm looking forward to it...

:: I am swimming in magazines now and I love that! My Clean Eating magazine arrived today and that one is my favorite. Lots of good stuff in there, I wish it was a monthly mag. I've also decided to start "Vanishing Acts" by Jodi Picoult. Gotta keep my brain active to ward off the alzheimers!

:: Well, our tv shows are over and I'm going to enjoy the down time and relax. Then get my workout on. Until tomorrow...

that is a wonderful book! I need to read it again and work on the things it talks about. I will bring you the book tomorrow. No need for you to order it, unless you read it and enjoy it enough to have your own copy!
