our weekend

I have sad news to share...our sweet old chihuahua, Little Man, took his last breath on Saturday night (6-12-10). Since Foster passed away back in February, Little Man had been on a steady decline. They were the same age (eleven) and had been companions their entire lives. Little Man is actually my mother-in-law's dog, but he has lived with us for 7 years. Little Man went blind practically overnight after Foster's death, and then had been losing a lot of weight in the past few months. He spent most of his life pretty overweight, so to see him losing weight so quickly was troublesome. In the past few days, his breathing had been very labored, so we had a feeling the end was drawing near. On Saturday evening, we were headed to dinner when we got the call from Mimi, saying that Little Man had taken his last breath. I took this photo Saturday afternoon...we will miss him, he was such a big part of our lives.

The rest of our weekend has been okay. Saturday morning, I did 50 minutes of pilates and then rode five miles with Chris as he ran. Whew, I was pooped!!! On my ride, I stopped to take a few pics. Here is one of Chris hopping around on some hay bales...I don't even know how he got up there!! They are bigger than you think.

And this pretty sunflower...they are difficult to capture because the wind blows so hard. They are never still! This was the best one I captured.

Saturday afternoon, Chris and I went to a wedding for one of his employees, Kyle. He and Kelsey had a beautiful ceremony at the Hardin-Simmons chapel...look at that gorgeous, huge stained glass window. It took up the entire wall, and was the backdrop to their vows. It was breathtaking with the sun streaming in.

I am really enoying "The Friday Night Knitting Club"...the way she is weaving their stories together is really intriguing. Very enjoyable read.
We also rented, "The Lovely Bones". I had read the book quite a long time ago, and thought it would be good to see the movie too. I must say, I thought it was pretty well done. I really enjoyed it. Chris, however, fell asleep :)

Back tomorrow with more life stories, and a Daily Rock!

Way to go on your workout...after we get back from our vacation next month I plan to join our YMCA to use their classes and stuff...
