tomorrow brings friday

:: It's been a good, quiet week at work and I am enjoying being able to get some stuff accomplished that has been on my list for too long. Tomorrow is Friday and I am hoping for another productive day.

:: I'm nearing the end of the first Narnia book (The Magician's Nephew) and there are some definite parallels with the Bible. I don't know the Bible as well as some, and I am probably even missing some. I am curious to read the remaining six books in the series.

:: Workout was good tonight - I have done the beast two nights in a row (zumba was cancelled last night) so I did the treadmill today to switch it up. Nothing burns calories as fast as the beast. So I have to work out longer on the treadmill and eliptical. But, got it done. Did a few weight things and then picked Chris up (he ran home). He has been in a running funk lately, but I think he is finally coming out of it. Which is nice, because funk = grump :) Not really, but I can tell a difference when he isn't running. He has been getting up in the mornings to run, and then also running in the evenings. And three days a week at lunch he lifts weights. So he is getting back in to his groove. He is talking now of signing up for the White Rock half marathon which is in December - he would run it with one of his friends from work, to support him. Remember my post from yesterday, about the bike race? Yep, supporting someone else. I think I am going to sign up to run the Turkey Trot in St. Louis this year, so that I can cross "run a 5k" off my goal list for this year. He said that he will run that with me to support me too. He is so awesome! Being fit is good! I feel better, and I am looking better. I received a few comments today about "skinny minny" :) A few more pounds, and then tone!!

:: Not much going on this coming LONG weekend! So grateful to have three long days off!!!! I am hoping to fit our August date night in at some point - we are supposed to have dinner at Bonzai and go to the drive in movies!!! Aspen is working some, and not sure what else. Neeley is out of town, so no work on the shop. A whole open weekend just to fill up :) What are your Labor Day weekend plans??

:: I received an envelope in the mail today - it contained a check I had sent in to pay a bill. I had failed to fill in the written amount. Ooops! Can't say I've ever done that. I'm sure they think it was an evasion tactic but nope, I'm just getting flighty in my old age!

:: Time to relax and read!!
