today's thoughts

:: It is so bloody hot here in Texas...I just spent 20 minutes outside in my work clothes, and am drenched. You seriously could have fried an egg on my forehead. I got home and my face was beet red, and I had to eat a Pop Ice to cool myself down from the inside out!

:: Was outside to do a quick photo shoot...every year, our company gathers up all the employee kids that go to a certain school, and do an ad with their picture for the football program. About 12 kids, of varying ages. I think I got some decent shots, even with the fierce sun threatening to ruin the pictures because of the squinting!

:: This weeked is my scrapbook group's two-day retreat!! I am so looking forward to it. Two days of scrapping...of eating lots of good food...of playing games and winning prizes...of participating in challenges...lots and lots of good stuff. Can't wait. I've got lots of pages preplanned to work on...

:: Aspen will be home in a few days...her month with Karly will be up. I know Aspen will enjoy being back home with us...

:: School starts on August 14th...that means between Aspen getting home and the 14th, we've got school clothes shopping to do. But first we have to go through her entire closet to see what fits and doesn't fit. Take inventory of what we need...

:: Yep, I've got "Ms. New Booty" for my cell phone ring tone...love it!

:: I've been enjoying all my normal blogs lately...seems like everyone who was anyone was at CHA (which is why I wasn't there! I'm no one!!). It's so crazy to me...one day these girls are just normal scrapbookers...the next minute they are designing products, winning Hall of Fame, becoming Garden Girls, all kinds of stuff. I don't know how the industry works...it just blows my mind!!! I would give anything right now to just have some time to scrapbook my own stuff everyday...and these girls are creating creating creating...and getting paid to do so!!

:: Mr. Ocho is doing really well...still very much a puppy, but slowly learning things. Stands by the door when he needs to go out...if we're lucky and see him, all is good. But if we don't, he may still go in the house. It's a process. He loves being outside and we have a hard time getting him to come in...lately though, he's been coming to the door by himself wanting in. It's a process. He's a very very persnickity eater. Hates eating out of his bowl. It's a process. He's very independent and doesn't like much to be petted...but little by little, he's coming around to like it more. It's a process. But man oh man, he gets cuter everyday!!!! We love him up!!

:: I've been jogging/walking at the high school track with Chris some evenings...around 9:00 when it's cooled off some. Feels good to be putting my body to work...it's been a long, lazy time!!

:: We've got a casual dress day tomorrow, and it's Friday...and it will be a busy one. Going to lunch with a bunch of coworkers and Chris...celebrating a coworkers birthday with cake and festivity...attending a retirement party for another coworker. Will we get any work done tomorrow? Only time will tell!! :)
